Lester announced after practice today that

Damari Roberson(foot) and Wesley French(knee) are both lost for the season.

Losing French on that DL is a huge blow.
crap crap crap
Not good. Damn.

By my count, that's a two-deep, plus three walk-ons and a freshman for the scout team on the defensive line. We're five deep with 21 wideouts and TEs (counting the injuries). I'd like to see Luke Sanders play rush end.

Flipped the injuries. Didn't Damari tear his ACL his Jr. year of high school and his senior year? Gotta wonder if 3 in 3 years will be the end for this young fella. Kind of like Falcon the RB a few years back. This was non-contact and so was his senior year. Not sure which knee he hurt before.

I did some digging. it was his left knee 2 times in high school and this was his right knee...

Going to have to hope for a Jordan White situation!
Wesley French is a huge loss! Both literally and figuratively. And so it begins... 03-banghead

Great player for us in arguably our thinnest position group. Huge loss for sure.
Lester indicated French is gonna take his medical year...

If he stays and plays that's good news for next year. If he enters the portal...
Oof.

I was really excited to see what French could do this year.
We're dangerously thin at DT. Ken Aguirre will be out for at least the first few weeks of the season. And now French is done. Yikes.
How did it happen?

Both non-contact injuries. Just planted their feet one way and their body went the other I'm guessing.
Losing French is a bummer but I do believe we have quite a bit of depth up front on defense with possibly some youth who sat out last season brining some new blood to that defensive line. I think Will McCabe brings some size as a redshirt frosh... We get Aguirre back early in the season most importantly BEFORE we hit the MAC schedule hopefully. We should have some depth with Williams, Fiske and Holley. So we lose some rotation early in the season with both French and Aguirre out ... Might need our LB corps to pick up some of the slack up the middle...

I think it will come down to how we play systemically on that side of the ball... going to have to be technically sound and in position more often than not... That was what drove me nuts last season... it seemed like the entire defense was confused most of the time (especially the Ohio and BSU game). Need to play with speed!

GO BRONCOS!
I am from St. Joseph, was hoping to see what Wesley French could and cheer him on...bummer. Hope he heals and sticks around for next year.

Never though I would be a water engineer....hope I can make Bobby Boucher proud!
