Well, who is going to be able to start a business if they’re overloaded with student loan debt? And then you’re asking people who already have a lot of debt to take on even more debt.

And there’s a bigger problem. Pell Grants don’t need to be repaid, they’re grants, not loans.

Why doesn’t she know that?
I will establish one for left handed three toed people with one blue eye.

Gtfoh heels up harris
Talk about courting failure.

You take a recent college grad, who probably has no credit or bad credit, and no business experience and encourage (require) them to start a business in order to weasel out from under student debt. I'm sure her plan would also include giving those people either additional low cost loans or government grants to start their business. Given small business failure rates, and the fact that recent, inexperienced, grads would expect even higher failure rates, the government would then lose twice, they wouldn't get the student loan money back and they would lose the investment in the business.

Then, if the business didn't make it three years, you have a person with a failed business that once again owes student debt repayment.

Liberals don't seem to understand economics/business very well.
I still say she's gonna be the Democratic nominee. She tics all the boxes for the Democrats....and they can only win with all those boxes checked.....although she's still a long shot to beat President Trump.

She's got zero chance to beat Trump. It'll be an outright landslide. She may not get any votes in the center of the country. I mean none.

I wouldn't say zero. Right now, all of the Democrat candidates are appealing to the leftwing of their party (which is more and more the center of their party). She has to do that to win primaries. After several primaries and she's deemed the eventual Democratic nominee, then their media wing (nearly all MSM) will begin presenting her as a centrist. It'll be non-stop daily coverage of her and her centrist ideology (whether true or not). She's black and a female...there's no other way the Dems win back the White House. They need women and blacks to vote in numbers similar to what former President Obama had....anything short of that and Trump coasts to his second term. There will be multiple stories to hit nationwide about racism (i.e. Ferguson, etc.) and likely some horrific stories about botched abortions, misleading data about wage gaps for women as lead stories on nightly news. It'll be overwhelming, continuous, and designed to drum up voters for an educated, mature, calm, black woman against a crazy, racist, mysogynist WHITE man. ....That'll be the message. It will sell the usual misinformed and they'll vote blindly against their best interests...as they always seem to do. Hope I'm wrong but I've seen this movie before.

And I think the center of the country will stonewall her in the biggest way possible. She’s not a good candidate and her message appeals to the fringes. Trump will blitz her.

That's my point. In order to get the Dem nomination, she must appeal to the fringes of the left. Once she has the nomination, then she'll be remade into a centrist by the Democrat party and the media (but I repeat myself). The masses will forget her fringe creds and view her as a centrist, because that's what they'll be told.

Which should give the republicans a roadmap. Make sure you have video of all her most extreme rants, and make sure they get plenty of air time in republican adverts. Actually that should be the game plan regardless of whic democrat gets the nomination. They all have multiple show stopper socialist/communist/collectivist statements. Make sure nobody forgets them.

And by the way, make sure you've got Tulsi's, "not qualified to be commander-in-chief," sound byte.
If she shot herself in a foot then she was aiming at the ceiling.

Why doesn’t she know that?

She does know that, which is why she said “student loan relief for Pell Grant recipients” and not “Pell Grant relief for Pell Grant recipients”. The Pell Grant is like $5k Max; just about everybody who qualifies for it is going to have to take out student loans in addition.

Definitely not a perfect plan, but I will take “Differ student loan payments and wipe out $20k max in student loans for people from poor backgrounds who are trying to reinvest in their communities” over “lets just erase all student debt” any day of the week.

What a maroon.

ANYONE can start a business and have it losemoney for 3, 5, 50 years.

So I buy a bucket and some towels and start my own mobile car detailing business.

I don't advertise cause, well, that schit's expensive. I don't actually have a car, cause well, I take the commuter rail everyday to my real job. But you're telling me thousands, perhaps TENS of thousands, in debt will be forgiven if I simply pay the 50 bucks a year for a business license? Business or not?

Good deal!

These people be dumb. Dumb people say and unfortunately often DO dumb things.

This would be one of them. 07-coffee3

I nearly broke out in laughter when i saw that...

Not to mention all the other flaws that have been pointed out.

Hey she listened to Snip Dog and Three Pack when she was in college.
Well, her heart is in the right place since it would create jobs, but she screwed up on the Pell Grants.

It would?

Why?

You ever started a business? How many jobs did it just *poof* create? One? None?

Dumb azz idea, rife for exploitation and abuse. What and who is going to control or verify these potentially million(s) new "businesses"?

Dumb people say, do and propose dumb things. This would be one of them.
