Media, coaches and players will be in Detroit Tuesday for the annual MAC football media day. It's from 11 to 2:30 and is broadcast on ESPN3.

It includes a "State of the MAC" speech by the commissioner and interviews with coaches and players from all schools. Interviews don't last more than 15 minutes. Sean Lewis, LB Nick Faulkner and QB Woody Barrett are the KSU people there.

It will be the first time Barrett has talked to the press. Lewis didn't allow any first-year player to be interviewed last season.

Ty Linder, Rob Polinsky and Jacob Pavilack from the KSU Radio Network will be on site and broadcasting from 10:55. That probably means iHeart Radio, but the release didn't say. Link to Golden Flash iHeart Radio is https://www.iheart.com/live/golden-flashes-radio-6068/.

WHLO is over-the-air station for KSU sports, but I see nothing that indicates one way or the other whether it will be broadcast there. I doubt it.

I think there's some chance KSU and/or ESPN3 will archive the day so we can watch when we want. But there's no indication of that, either.

(To someone who teaches journalism, this is not very good press relations.)

Kent State was picked fourth in the MAC East.

AS mediocre as that sounds, it's the highest since 2013.

Ohio was picked as league champion. Here's the list

EAST

1. Ohio
2. Miami
3. Buffalo
4. Kent State
5. Akron
6. Bowling Green

WEST

Here are the media predictions from press day:

1. Toledo
2. Western Michigan.
3. Northern Illinois
4. Eastern Michigan
5. Ball State
6. Central Michigan

Here's list to story on KSU website, which includes vote totals and a rundown on Kent's team. I've seen nothing on interviews with Lewis, Barrick and Faulkner, who were at media day.
