i realize the golfing world was focused on the Open Championship but Cincy Golf Alum Jim Herman won the Barbasol Championship today. i believe he's the only Bearcat on tour currently.
I believe that will get him an exemption to the PGA Championship at the very least, and MAYBE The Masters/US Open. I cant recall the specific exemptions, but a winner on a PGA Tour event for sure gets someone into the PGA.
No Masters or US Open exemptions. He does get a two year tour exemption which is a huge deal because he's had an awful recent record and was probably going to lose his tour card.

Not to get political but Herman credited President Trump for a putting tip he received from him recently. Herman is close with the President from his time as a pro at one of Trump's courses and I think Trump helped him financially to get out on tour.

iirc, Herman was a PGA Pro at a Trump course and Trump fronted him which allowed Herman to pursue, and eventually make the tour. Want to say it was a NY/NJ course but it could have been Doral down in FL.
Barbasol is right down the road in Lexington. Home field advantage for him?

None of the sport's top players weren't there, but most everyone ranked from 120-250 in FedEx Cup points was there, along with a handful who were ranked higher.

Make Herman Good Again!
I met him recently while he was here in Charlotte for the Wells Fargo tourney. A really nice guy to chat with.
