The overtime TN game was one of my most painful days as a UAB fan. I live in Knoxville, and was at the game with friends who are huge UT fans. UAB kicked their butt all over the field and missed about a dozen field goals to lose in overtime, maybe double OT.

The players came loaded for bear but the coaches were using squirrel shot. When Calloway opted to attempt the last field goal in regulation rather than go for the first down, after already missing a seasons worth of kicks that day, i knew he couldnt see the heart of that team, and was simply unable to seize the win. He was just not a winner. The kids deserved better that day.

I hope Clark dedicates this years game to that team and to those former players who punched and bloodied a storied SEC team that day,’and who deserved a coach who could help them seize the moment and make all their hard work pay off with in a way they would have celebrated the rest of their lives.

Its time for Clark and this team to win an SEC game.
I'm looking forward to making the trip to Knoxville this year. While I think we would have had a much better shot at Tennessee last season I think we make it a competitive game. Pruitt is going to do good things at Tennessee but they are very much still in the rebuilding phase.

Defensive line will be their weakness. Corners will be sophomores. Offese might give us trouble.
Being in Knoxville and watching us attempt all those field goal was on a bad time, even though we beat them in nearly all aspects of the game.

I went to UT once at the beginning of the year when we were the Jefferson Pilot game at 1130am CDT. I cannot remember anything about the game but it was SOOO hot, I could care less if a game was being played. My only saving grace was I was sweating before the game and the only thing I had in the car was a full size bath towel. I became a true believer in having any type of shade, even a bath towel, when sitting in unmerciful sunny conditions.
With regard for our record with SEC teams that season, I will remember it as "the season that turned on 5 FGs". We would have won at UTK if we had not missed all 5 FGs, and Miss State beat us when they made 5 FGs since they were unable to score enough TDs on our defense.
