FOX is going all-in on one timezone and with that I will make my viewing decision accordingly.

Every American telecast revolves around Eastern Standard Time. It's why every starting time is followed by EST.

The Big Noon Kickoff starts at 11.

I mean, I get it, it’s the pregame to their Big Noon Saturday which does begin at noon but that’s confusing af

The name itself is stupid, but I think Fox is going to do really well by focusing on this early time slot. Not only is it going to be a steady stream of tOSU, Michigan, Penn State, Texas, and OU, but there is not going to be a ton of competition in the time slot.

I think Fox is going to dominate the noon kickoff timeslot, and I think it might actually help keep TVs on for the afternoon and evening fox games.

the problem that Fox has though is there's no lock that their noon game will be even the top game in the slot....

look at first few weeks-
week 1- they have Florida Atlantic/Ohio St. ABC has Ole Miss/Memphis, and ESPN has South Alabama/Nebraska. Is there much difference?
week 2- they have Army/Michigan. ABC has Cincy/Ohio St. I'd say ABC has better game there
week 3- they have Ohio St/Indiana. ABC has Pittsburgh/Penn St. ABC with better game there

so in first 3 weeks alone, ABC has the better matchup for sure in 2 of the 3 weeks. What has to frost Fox is that the game that is beating them is a Big Ten game itself.

I'd also guess you may see ESPN take GameDay to some noon kickoffs themselves.

That makes 10a kickoffs here, which will be for fine. Game day ends then and hopefully Fox will get better games as time goes on.

The problem for Fox is where are they going to get the improvement? I don't see the Big Ten or Big 12 shutting out ESPN/ABC entirely, and I think ESPN knows that they have a pretty good deal with the Big Ten.

There's only 1 realistic option which would be a game changer, and that's if Fox got the SEC package.

Not concede, but ABC/ESPN are not going to put their best eastern/central game at noon ET very often. They'll put their best game of the week in east coast prime time far more often than not.

What ESPN probably will do at noon ET is chip away at the audience for a Fox game by airing a game from the same conference in the same time slot. Fox has been using that tactic for years when ABC has the best prime time game. Example: On 9/28 when Fox has Iowa-Michigan, Purdue-Penn State will be on ABC or ESPN.

True- although at times they would go with like an ACC game that's pretty good, where they'll still have a good prime time game as well. ABC's collection is so much stronger than what Fox has- pretty much the exact same as Fox with Big Ten and Big 12, but then all of the ACC and for ESPN most all of the SEC as well.

It was like this last year too, right? I mean I think there are 2 maybe 3 conferences that can split games in the same time slot of the major networks and still be successful.

I'll take a wait and see approach too with the 3 comparisons you mentioned. Ohio State/Indiana vs. PITT/Penn State could be very equal. I love the Pitt/Penn State game so I'll have two TVs going throughout the day.

Like I said earlier, I'll definitely be tuning in to the BIG Noon Kickoff pregame show. If it turns out that is sucks, I'll still have other options.

I know I am going OT but this post reminded me of George Grande, who was the Cincinnati Reds play by play guy on Fox Sports Ohio for many years. He objected to using profanity so whenever he had to do a spot promoting the show he would just call it "The Best Sports Show Period".

It's amazing how steve is bitter over everything FOX does.

it's more amazing how everyone else wants to fawn all over Fox like it's the second coming. Their football schedule lags FAR behind ABC/ESPN. They have pretty much exactly what ABC/ESPN has in the Big Ten, Pac 12, and Big 12- and has nothing from the ACC or SEC.

All this is is putting lipstick on a pig. ABC is going to beat Fox in their supposed best game of the day several times this fall. Nothing has changed.
