Yes, he was a 3 star out of high school. Ranked as the #234 in the country and the #47 small forward in the country. Didn't do much at all at UNLV- not sure if he had injury issues or not. He's 6'7" and obviously was considered to have a lot of potential. I assume he will be a sit-out transfer, unless his lack of playing time last year was do to an injury and he can apply for a medical hardship to be immediately eligible. I'm excited about his signing. Remember Rayjon didn't start at FGCU, and UNLV is certainly a higher level program
Maybe his is the grad transfer referred to in the recruiting section of this board.
Actually Verbal Commits does not list him as immediately eligible so maybe we are still looking at someone else.
UNLV CAREER
Coupet Jr. is in his third season in the Runnin’ Rebel program in 2018-19.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2017-18)
Sat out the 2017-18 season as a redshirt.

FRESHMAN (2016-17)
Appeared in 17 games, making two starts ... Averaged 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game ... Scored a career-high eight points vs. UC Riverside ... Also grabbed a career-high seven rebounds in that game.

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2016 graduate of Simeon Career Academy in Chicago, Illinois ... Averaged 10 points and four rebounds per game as a senior ... Was named first-team all-league (Red South) ... Was a three-star prospect by Rivals and 247 Sports ... ESPN had him as the No. 39 small forward in his class and No. 10 overall in the state of Illinois ... The Wolverines won the city championship in 2016 and the state championship in 2013 ... Scored 24 points with seven rebounds in a Public League playoff game against Morgan Park ... Coached by Robert Smith ... Coupet Jr. lettered all four years of high school ... Simeon is one of the country's most well-known high school programs, producing two top-two overall NBA Draft picks (Derrick Rose, Jabari Parker) in a seven-year span (2008-14) ... Coupet Jr. also played for Dream Vision and Mac Irvin Fire, both AAU teams.

Ben will be immediately eligible...as long as he completes the summer classes at UNLV. He will graduate and have two years left to play. He was not injured, he just didn't make the rotation as a sophomore. He's not going to score 25 points a game, but he will defend the other team's best player on most nights. He has the potential to lead the team in rebounding. He's a strong finisher at the rim. This looks like a really good fit for player and program. He played in Chicago at Simeon High School.
I was going to say if he graduates this summer he would be eligible immediately as a grad transfer.

That is a key ingredient we need this upcoming season. Glad to have him onboard!
