Doesn't this schedule now mean that ECU would have to win 7 to make a bowl with the sorry as hell OOC including TWO?!?! FCS teams?

Yeah. The reason ECU has two FCS opponents is because VT cancelled their game against ECU this year, because ECU would not travel to VT last year due to the hurricane.

I think that ECU goes 7-5 with basically the same players from last year. I don't think that people can really appreciate just how much Mo sucked as a HC or how much Compher sucked as an AD.

You do realize VA Tech was on the schedule, this is the result of the dispute right?

Completely forgot...seems odd that there were no open slots with an FBS team, but that is more agreeable than simply scheduling lower division teams to boost wins like someone's basketball team used to do.

Our OOC football scheduling over the years speaks for itself, we're not ducking anyone.

VT replaced the game they unilaterally cancelled with Furman. Now they have 2 FCS games this year.

Isn't this the year SC was supposed to come to Greenville?

I actually checked that personally back when the team was looking to fill the void. I think VT officially dropped the game the day before Christmas 2018, so it was pretty late in the scheduling window.

On paper, it looked like Miami was the only P5 team that still had an opening at the time, maybe the only FBS. We later found out that they had an FCS lined up, but hadn't announced. VT couldn't even get an FBS opponent for 2019.

2021
5 or 6 wins. There is no way they're as bad as they've been lately. Last season was a low water mark.

As bad as last season was, I think 2017 was actually the low water mark of the Mo error. I think I watched the first two games that season. Last year I didn't completely give up until almost November.

2021

I went back and looked it up. This is the second time.

South Carolina backs out of 2019 nonconference game

This seems to be a recurring theme with SC. We should have had them and VT this year.

Oh yeah totally. 5% chance the 2021 game happens. But it's on the schedule...right now...checking again...yes....no promises after I click send.

If we ever have to do another 2 for 1, somebody needs to make sure we get the home game first. And make THAT a guarantee in writing.

As an aside, we don't have to win 7 games this year for a bowl. We can still win one FCS and win 5 FBS. If we lose 2 FCS I'm taking up self-flagellation.
The boys are back... 04-cheers

If anything we've scheduled too difficult in the past. In my opinion our future scheduling philosophy needs to look something like couple of decent P-5's, a G-5, an FCS. Obviously the P-5/G-5 mix should be somewhat fluid. We don't need to kill ourselves OOC anymore because the AAC has shown to be an awesome league for that.
