Saw a similar thread on the SBC board, so I figured I'd share the odds for C-USA. FAU is the favorite (surprisingly).

North Texas +475
Southern Miss +500
Marshall +675
Middle Tennessee +875
UAB +975
Louisiana Tech +1300

clt says the Kiffin effect is real
So, you're telling me there's a chance...
It'll really come down to if Southern Miss' offense has improved. Talking to players this Spring, it still had some work that needed to happen, but the defense will be great like last year. If we'd had any form of an offense last year, we'd have won a lot of games. Hoping we can run this conference, but you just never know.
When did UTSA sink to our level?
Some have suggested that WKU's talent level under Sanford was fine and that it was mostly coaching and game management that sunk the Hilltoppers. If you subscribe to that theory WKU at +3550 is pretty good value.
I think Marshall is the Favorite this season and rest of the league is so so and i predict pain for ODU but they might surprise and win 4 or 5. By all accounts if we don't get to bowl this season Bobby Wilder and his nincompoop's should be let go at the end and we should look for a decent coach. Side Note EmptySue might give Marshall a game.
With a new coach Western is a unknown, which is good. I never thought Western had a talent problem...scheme and coaching matters. When a defense knows your play from the way you line up its hard scoring points. I could call 85% of Westerns plays from the way the TE or H-Back lined up.

If Coach Helton plays a wide open style anything close to what Brohm played. Western will score 30+ ppg and if Western scores 30 or more ppg the team will be in play for the east. Should get a earlier ideal on how the east is going to play out for Western in game 2...Western @FIU

Charlotte beat 4 teams ranked ahead of them last year and dominated another but lost due to 2 deep turnovers and anyone looking closely expects us to be better. .......yeah, those make great sense. 01-wingedeagle

Southern Miss' offense just needs better play-calling and a better run game. Thank GOD Jay Hopson addressed these issues after last season's conclusion. Our OC is gone. And thank GOD our OL coach and S/C coord were canned. We are going to surprise a lot of teams this year with our offense. Defense is going to be one of the best, if not the best in the league. Last year our offense was TERRIBLE and we were STILL 7 points away from going 9-2 and hosting the CUSA 'ship!

Last year (in CUSA) USM finished #8 in scoring offense & #13 in rushing offense. We will definitely move into the top 5 in both of those categories this fall, mark my words fellas. Barring an insane # of injuries we'll not only be competing for the 'ship, I think we'll be hosting the 'ship...something that hasn't happened at USM in a long time.

Let's be honest here, they don't put nearly as much time into odds for conferences outside of the Cartel 5. They also won't see a ton of bets on these.
They got the wrong Florida school at the top.

Also, I might be wrong. I feel like North Texas have all the ingredients for a run. I don't know why more people aren't on that train.

Because they struggled over the last 6 games going 3-3. They had to replace 5 asst coaches and need to replace 52% on defense. S. Miss and Tech returns more on defense. S. Miss is 4th in the nation in returning Off/Def players. Tech is 30th and UNT 51st

especially their defense
52 points Utah st
21 to UTSA that only avg 14
38 to FAU
34 to ODU
17 to Rice the only team UNT held under their avg...19PPG
29 to UAB

All of that sounds cute, but they have the one thing that trumps all of that.

Productive returning senior quarterback.

They had a 3rd year Jr starting QB last season and finished 3rd in the west and 6th overall in CUSA. So no it doesn't trump all.

If that was the case you could have said the same about Western 2017...with a more productive sr qb
clt just made a bet.

I looked it up.

Of the last ten seasons in CUSA, five champions were with teams with a prominent starting Senior QB.

Don't be so selfish--there's enough cellar to share for you, them Rice, and maybe a few others.
Looking at the odds, it seems that odd makers believe there will be a significant amount of parity at the top of our conference.
