Football will go independent or to a lesser conference. Seems inevitable, so let's get on with it.

In other words, "We gone".

It’s where they belong. They’ve been a mid major program ever since Calhoun left. Go back to a mid major conference
So if U con is out who is in?

We can do better.

Just don't go west of Texas, please.
Man, If this is the beginning of another wave of conference realignment over the next few years Memphis CANNOT be left behind. It’ll be CUSA 2.0 if it happens because all of the schools that would get invited to other conferences are in the AAC.
and right when Dan Hurley had gotten popular in Memphis.

If this is true then it's not good for the conference. Brandwise UConn is the biggest in basketball for the AAC. Unless a BYU is the replacement anyone else will be a drop from a branding standpoint. Please don't add a CUSA or Sun-Belt school.
IMHO, this is lousy news for American conf. (and us). UCONN has excellent basketball tradition including national championship tradition.
From a basketball stand point, it will be MOST DIFFICULT to replace UCONN with an equal.

But to be clear, this is 'lousy"'. It is not 'sky is falling'.
This will make beating the hell out of them in football and basketball even more enjoyable for me.

BYU or Boise for football only and maybe a VCU or St Louis for b-ball only. I doubt anyone wants to go that far West, so maybe go Army football only. I’m sure ESPN will have a huge say in replacements though.

Last thought - go all-in on Western expansion with BYU, Boise and Air Force, all sports maybe. Move to 14-member football.
I mean, bye.

I like the program, but football is the thing and they're an awful football program.

I'd prefer they stay, but if they leave, invite Army FB only and call it a day.
I can’t help but think of all the media talking about how easy it was to dominate in this conference when Memphis had great success. Nice to see an outsider come in, prove this, and leave with their tail between their legs.

I say take this opp to go big and truly become P6.
Drop Tulane, ECU, Tulsa. Add Boise St, BYU, SDSU, UNLV.
Football truly becomes P6 worthy. Basketball improves overall.
Nationwide coverage/interest. True, more travel costs for olympic sports, byt that can be minimized by creative scheduling. P6 money & status will more than make up for those headaches.
If they dont open the door for for P status. SUE THEIR ASS!

You can’t possibly be expecting anything good from Aresco after the TV rights deal fiasco? The man just can’t think out of the box.

The AAC won't drop anyone, It is either add a team from east, or possibly 3 way out west.

I agree, but that’s what I think would be best. I just dont think any of those 3 drive ? ?.
Peace out. Their men’s basketball program has gone to **** and their football team has always sucked
