Too early to say in my opinion. They have been pretty bad the past couple years, but I would have to see a longer trend before I definitively say we are a better conference. However, we definitely have a better trajectory than they do right now. And with Arizona in trouble with the FBI and UCLA making an underwhelming hire, their flagship programs don't look primed to make a championship run anytime soon.

Don't count your chickens with Arizona yet. Miller is still recruiting well and just got one of Musselman's Nevada transfers. Miller somehow seems like he's Teflon. I don't understand how he doesn't get busted though but nothing has happened to him yet.

You forgot the quotes around "recruiting".
I'm betting Miller is gone within the year(or whenever the ncaa finishes). They haven't extended his contract, and my guess is even as hands off as Az's board and hierarchy have been, they're waiting for the penalties to come down before they get rid of him. They would owe him quite a bit of money if they terminate him without cause so i'd be surprised if they don't wait to have that before moving. If they keep him, he's going to be forever under the cloud of having all his assistants booted or in jail and claiming he did nothing wrong. That will be pretty hard to work around long term in the college bball world.

Good logic. To bring that around to the OP, Arizona has been one of the most consistently good P12 programs. Post Miller, Zona will survive and right the ship but they will be down for a few seasons. All the more reason for the American to keep trending up and settle in the perch above them. If Gregory can keep USF rising then that is one less doormat team in our conference. If East Carolina and Tulane can ever......well, every conference has to have bottom feeders.
man what happened to Stanford????
