I wish I knew which company it came from.

Home-Ec was phased out of most school systems 40-50 years ago. Grown-ups that don’t know how to cook is just one consequence.

That is not a shot a teachers, that is a direct shot at government funding for teachers/schools.

My wife always bakes her bacon... sometimes even microwaves it. Needless to say, if we are eating anything with bacon, I toss her aside and take care of the bacon part.

I learned on my own how to cook bacon. I was the ripe age of 12, wanted a bacon sandwich for breakfast, my dad took me in the kitchen showed me where the bacon and the fry pan was and monitored me. The first try I burned it. Second try got better.. 25 years later my wife will say I bought bacon, can you fry it.. It's an art.. Although she did toss my iron skillet.

I switched to baking it a few months ago. Works great. Comes out exactly the same as pan frying, but without the splatter, and it cooks more evenly. Plus, you don't have to stand there tending it the whole time. Just put it in the oven and set a timer.

P.S. I would never nuke bacon. That's blasphemy.

I used to fry it outside as the smoke and overwhelming aroma didn't suit my wife. She said the whole house smelled of bacon as if it was a bad thing. Anyway, since I stopped frying it outside on my grill (it has a cooking attachment) we've been nuking it, it doesn't smoke like frying it does. It's not entirely the same but pretty much it still tastes like bacon. Sometimes it get overly cooked, and that's how she likes it, I like it a little bit rawer but I'll eat anything bacon as I love the stuff.
