Well, wanted or not, my opinion is that... and as much as PSCNiner and I like to jab each other...Charlotte is eventually going to be fine. The truth is the truth. They have many more resources than small market/budget/enrollment schools. Get your shots in now. Will Charlotte be a juggernaut? Doubtful. But they are going to be one of the prettiest maidens at the dance in case of expansion.

But make no mistake 49ers. Im going to give you crap for as long as i can. Lol

I want to believe this, but I’ve seen no indication that our fan base is coming back. Most are still as checked out as ever, and going 6-5 last year against awful teams didn’t help.

For some reason I was thinking it wasn't a sell out because there were still quite a few seats opens, mostly in the east/west upper decks on the south/north ends. I remember sitting in the stadium thinking "Jesus, what is it going to take for us to completely 100% pack out this stadium?".

I can't image we truly sold all the tickets. As you mentioned, the corner sections of East upperdeck (couldn't see the West upper) where very bare. Especially that south east corner. I highly doubt we "sold" all those tickets, yet several hundred people in adjacent seats all coincidentally did not to show up. I feel like there was probably around 33.5k at that game. Maybe don't wait until 9:15pm for kickoffs if you truly want a sellout.

It was reported as a sellout by USM. I can’t imagine them not selling tickets when there were people wanting them.
If wku is good we will sell out all games till November. This year army probably will be sold out.

No one see's the FCS Alabama State game as a "big game" either. UABs schedule sucks this year.

UAB will NEVER sell out Legion Field, but I'll say attendance will be closer than you think between South and ASU. Apparently you haven't got a clue about the UAB-USA rivalry.

UAB doesn't need to worry about filling Legion Field as it won't be their home mush longer...they need to beat both those teams (which they should) and focus on growing their brand until the move into their new stadium.

But Alabama State will definitely bring more fans than USA will no question. They're only an hour and a half from Bham and have a ton of alumni in the area. And people will also show up just to see their band. They play a game in the same stadium that draws over 60k yearly.

It definitely won't. lol. I like for the Bama State game to have at least 5k more fans than the USA game.

clt says thanks pal!
Not trying to talk smack, especially since our attendance has been so down lately, but it blows my mind that UNT has yet to sell out their stadium. Especially considering how good they've been lately and you get to play UTSA at home every other year which is obviously a huge game for us. If yall don't make it happen against UH then get us on the schedule. Maybe we can do it?

UTSA doesnt travel very well to Denton. But i have also been very surprised that we havent sold Apogee out. The opener against Houston in 2011 should have done it and the SMU game should sell out every time.

We suffer from the same problems that a lot of southern G5's suffer from. When the excitement is at it's highest at the beginning of the year, it's freaking 105 outside. Us diehards will still spend all day in it, drinking and hanging out and then trooping in the stadium and cheering our little hearts out, but a casual fan or local doesnt want to post up on 100+ degree asphalt and then go shield their eyes for half the game until the sun goes far enough down.

I would love to schedule a series with Texas State. I often work in San Marcos and have a ton of friends that would go to both games. We might could actually make that a sell out.

Shoot all of our best attended games have come at the beginning of the season when we have hope. When we combine relatively high expectations with hope then we get some solid attendance, see 2015, but then everyone figures out we suck after the first 5 games and then attendance goes downhill. Of course for the last 3 years that hasnt meant much.
