Kudos to SDSU for knowing their own worth and getting the home and home series that they are seeking.

They signed a new home and home with in state PAC12 team Cal.

This comes in addition to these Home and Home series already scheduled with other regional "P5" teams:

UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Cal and Oregon State

I guess no one told SDSU that they should know their place and only accept 2-1's? 07-coffee3
#P6Power SDSU!
1) the PAC 12 is P5 in name only.

2) There's nobody else out there to play.
LMAO when did Cal become P5? Next thing you know they will say Pitt and UNC are P5 too....
(06-06-2019 08:12 AM)Topcat Wrote: [ -> ]2) There's nobody else out there to play.

If only we had a mode of transportation available whereby teams could travel to any part of the United States to play games against teams from other regions.

But, alas, we all still travel by horseback and it is what it is.

I see.

You're waiting for me to come back with the travel time and expenses argument so you can pounce with your WELL WE'RE PLAYIN' STANFORD HOME AND HOME thing.

You're also playing FAMU and FAU. ... And there's a reason for that.

lol yea it's because like most schools we include an FCS team per year and schools tend to enjoy playing games in recruiting hotbeds like south Florida (the actual south Florida, not Tampa)

Just recently Cal traveled to UNC and Ole Miss for games. UCLA visited Memphis. Cincy traveled to play at UCLA (did you forget that one?). This happens literally every year. And yes, Stanford is playing at UCF this year - magically.

You probably shouldn't use words if you don't know their definition, considering USF has home and homes with Wisconsin, Georgia Tech and NC State...

Yes, and recent 2-1's with ACC teams that consistently finish lower in the standings than both of the teams you listed. You see that's the issue here right?

However per your own USF fan above, apparently GT and NCST aren't "real" P5 teams.

You can try to shame us for our schedule all you want. We're mostly quite happy with it. The fact that it has so many UCF fans panties in a twist has been an unexpected bonus. But it's awesome that you guys spend so much time thinking about us! As I said in another thread, anything about USF that gets posted draws a comment from at least one UCF fan. In this case, you started a thread about a San Diego State/Cal series just to take a swipe at us. Do we have to pay rent for occupying so much space in your fandom's psyche?

Dude, the only reason we think of USF is due to the fact that you've chosen to schedule like a Sun Belt team and are dragging programs like UCF and Houston down with you as you make this the norm and not the exception. Otherwise USF is a totally irrelevant football program.

And yes, SDSU was mentioned since they seem to believe in "P6" more than most programs in this conference, which shows what a total farce that entire campaign is. There are only a few programs who are actually making "P6" happen and it's not those scheduling 2-1's.
Moved as this is not conference related and created to specifically troll USF
Due to geography and the fact there are fewer FBS programs on the far west coast, it is easier to schedule H&H with Pac12 schools. It is very expensive and inconvenient for Cal to schedule someone like Virginia (ACC) or Illinois (B10) H&H. Heck, even playing the B12 schools in Iowa, Kansas or Oklahoma is a long trip.

However, if somebody in California has a date to fill and has the choice of Scheduling San Diego St. or Toledo, who are they going to pick?

If that were true, we wouldn't be treated to the incessantly childish inability to capitalize the letters of our name by most UCF posters, the ubiquitous shots at how we're not actually in "south" Florida or the hackneyed trophy case jokes.

But let me ask you this - if our signing 2 for 1's with Alabama, Florida, Miami and Louisville - who have combined for 14 of the last 35 national titles and 7 Heisman trophy winners in that same time frame - is somehow preventing non Power 5 schools from signing home and homes, can you explain how San Diego State was able to do this? Or, rather, are you simply trying to troll and using this to deflect the fact that your savior hasn't managed to sign more than 3 series after this year? Even the mods quickly saw through it...

And yet, when we make that exact same argument for FSU or UF, we're told that we should shut up and only take a 2-1. Yet here you are, arguing that 1-1's make total sense when a regional school can schedule another regional school.

Not to mention FSU now has less season ticket holders than UCF and needs to find fans to fill their stadium these days.

UCF has signed home and homes with both Louisville and Miami. That's my point- USF scheduling like a Sun Belt program is not making it impossible for winning programs like UCF, but it certainly is/will make it a lot harder.

As for crying about meanie UCF fans, please spare me. Do I need to remind you how utterly insufferable USF fans were back in the Big East days? I can if you want but I think you already know what I'm talking about.

We had plenty of home and homes with Miami, too. Signed long before the days of the ACC Network. Those days are gone.

Of the series we signed, the one I'm least happy about is the Louisville one. But that was signed by our old AD.

So you're subscribing to the "two wrongs make a right" philosophy. Good that you at least want to admit it.
