It is reported by CBS Sports' #1 CBB analyst straight from the head coach's mouth along with the #1 pay site for UC sports, Jarron's instagram, and John Goodman, so I think we're solid.

If John Goodman is reporting it, it must be true.

Good old Freudian slip.

And Kyle Washington
And Kevin Johnson
And Tre Scott
And Troy Caupain
And the list goes on

We've had a remarkable share of great young men - both on and off the court - in this program over the past few years. I give Mick great credit for that.

I think Mick’s biggest contribution was changing the perception of Cincinnati from Thuggins to student athletes.
I wish he would won more NCAA tournament games, beat Xavier at Cintas at least once, and embraced social media but at least he left the program in good standing.
Live look-in at Hepblade after he read the Jaevin Cumberland to UC News...

Big pickup!
Where have all the Chicken Little's gone of late? The roster continues to solidify including addition by subtraction. Coach Brannen has been working the beat. I love this article's headline...

Quote:Ex-Oakland guard Jaevin Cumberland spurns Michigan, transfers to Cincinnati

Michigan has missed the mark on another target.

Oakland grad transfer Jaevin Cumberland has signed with Cincinnati and will use his final season of eligibility with the Bearcats.

Cumberland, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound sharp-shooting guard, acknowledged the news by posting a GIF of a dancing Bearcat mascot on his Twitter, which is a private account.

Cumberland took an official visit to Michigan last month and left Ann Arbor with a scholarship offer, but all that took place before former coach John Beilein left for the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cumberland told The Detroit News shortly after his visit he was looking to “show my talents on a bigger stage” and there was an “opportunity” for him with the Wolverines, who lost their top three perimeter players and scorers to the NBA Draft — Charles Matthews, Jordan Poole and Ignas Brazdeikis.

Instead, Cumberland will be taking his 17.2 points and 39.9 percent 3-point shooting out of state and heading to Cincinnati where he will join his cousin Jarron Cumberland, who withdrew from the NBA Draft last week. Jaevin Cumberland will be immediately eligible to play for the 2019-20 season.

Meechigan Spurned For Bearcat Nation
Shouldn't have looked at the comments on that article. Michigan fans saying things like "I guess he didn't want to play on the big stage" and "how do they even get anyone to play in that 9K seat dump of an arena?" Some "fans" are so stupid and arrogant.

EDIT: After reading more stuff from the Michigan side, it looks like most of the stupidity stems from one troll.

All good. Just having fun. I probably would have done the same.
Excellent. The more shooters we can get the better.

Highly doubt it. For one, Mick refused to recruit grad transfers. Also, Jaevin was not considered a take by Cronin's staff and not looked at.

In that case, Bearcats#1 would be saying Jaevin fell into his lap because of Behlein leaving and Jarron returning and Cronin still can't recruit.
if he was gonna add a grad transfer that one made the most sense considering it was going on late march and he still had a spot open. though it was starting to become his thing to keep one in his pocket 'case someone materialized

Mick offered multiple grad transfers this spring before going to UCLA. He didn't like offering grad transfer (or transfers even), but we had a pretty glaring need for another guard. Though I agree he probably would not have offered Jaevin (probably someone more like McNeal who could backup Moore/Johnson).

I've never said I loved everything about Cronin, I was critical of several things about him. I was okay with his philosophy of not taking start spots from players who worked hard, as we saw it built a very consistently winning program with very few transfers out. Grad transfers are a more boom bust strategy long term.

The everything negative about Cronin crowd has turned to the unwilling to hear anything but positives about Brannen crowd. Brannen has done plenty of good things (Jaevin being the biggest), but that doesn't mean that every player he's recruited is great. He has brought on a number of role players (Sorolla and possibly McNeal, Vogt), that's okay and they are filling positions of need, late in the year with limited options available. I don't really see a problem with saying Sorolla is clearly not starter material, he doesn't need to be a starter to fill the role I believe Brannen brought him on for (which is mostly to help us deal with teams who have bruiser type bigs).
