Athlon ranked all 130 Division 1 football teams. NIU came in at 75 (the highest in the MAC.) Here is their write-up:

75. Northern Illinois

The Huskies have dominated the MAC in recent seasons, with eight overall trips to the conference title game (with four titles) since 2005. The city of Chicago is less than 70 miles away, providing Northern Illinois with a talent-rich area on the recruiting trail. Additionally, the facilities rank among the best in the MAC. Despite the success on the gridiron, the Huskies ranked 11th in the conference in expenses ($25.7 million in 2018).

I am pleasantly surprised that they consider NIU's facilities as one of the best in the MAC. Props to the administration for doing more with less.

NIU does have some of the best facilities in the MAC, and as a whole, is easily tops in the conference.

Best "player" facilities in the MAC. Need some of those "fan luxury" facilities everyone keeps talking about.
