What EXACTLY was the reason and how much?

EXACT details only.

Yeah

03-yawn

If your last name is not Hardaway, Miller, Madlock, Mitchell, or Watford then you don't, didn't, and will not know sh!t.

Yawn, smack the table, beat your head against a brick wall, doesn't matter.

You are a Conjecture Clown like the other guy.

Bore me with the DETAILS, hotshot.

Bruahahahahahahaha.
*sigh*
Yeah.

Same folks said RJ was headed to Kansas.

Sigh that.

Everything about this post is BS. Carry on with your garbage. See ya.
Why did we pass on Watford? Folks here claim to know why but no one states why. I don’t usually agree with Jam but if other folks think he’s not right, then please state why the staff moved on from Watford. All we (the simpletons not in the know) can do is speculate; why not kill the speculation by stating the reasons why the staff actually moved on from Watford.

Same. I usually don't agree with Jam either, but he's right on this one.

And anyone who thinks we passed on the #16 recruit in the country after recruiting him since basically day 1 of the Penny era is dreaming. Always remember Trendon played on Mike's AAU team. And the same people who later said we moved on from Watford were also saying how we could sign both Watford and Achiuwa as soon as Achiuwa committed.

It wasn't until Wade was reinstated and LSU became the Crystal Ball leader that the 'move on' narrative formed.
It was mentioned in another thread that his handlers were looking for something.
Or maybe it was this thread
After all the tumult Penny opted not to hire Christian as a assistant coach for 200k plus.

Yes fwiw several here knew Sam Mitchell was gone well in advance and this position was and still is open.

We shall see who Penny hires but it's not Christian.

Penny nixed that.

Believe it or don't.

Of course. But apparently no one mentioned that for the year we were recruiting him. Until right after LSU became the leader for Trendon, then his handlers 'were looking for something'.

Like Jam said, it's just speculation. And people trying to look like insiders. No one has any facts. And it's reeks of sore loseritis.

Yeah my personal guess on that one was wrong. I figured KU would be so desperate they’d pull him in at the end. All that was just my personal guessing. Watford isn’t.

Why on Earth would he hire Christian?, say No and move on accept the call on Saturday night from Trendon himself and say you can commit but we ain't hiring nobody.

Happens all the time usually with some additional payout but I am willing to bet that Trendon was ready to for go his brothers job and any payout to c0ome to Memphis.

As far as Mitchell goes, I assumed he would be gone in one year regardless and then the leg thing, that was red flag number 2.

Mitchell didn't fit.

I believe you can say no to Christian and yes to Trendon all in the same sentence.

You don't now, have never, and never will be an INSIDER.

You have been wrong so many countless times.

You are not really who I was asking to be quite honest.

It's a given that you are full of it.

I mean FULL.

Yep. And several here apparently just knew Sam was leaving, but conveniently didn't post about it on an anonymous message board. Total BS. It wasn't discussed here until J&J talked about it on their show.

So should we expect to hear Christian Watford added to the LSU staff soon? You know, since his handlers reached out?

We won almost all of our recruiting battles. We don't have to act like Kentucky fans when we lose one.

I think they turned Christian down on day 1.

No way possible they let that manifest.

No way.

Never a consideration.

Numbers or no.

Now, if they said "we" need x amount of money and "we" will commit then I totally get that.

This is the ONLY WAY I think Trendon called and wanted to commit and Penny turned him down.

People get turned down for the brother/uncle/aau or high school coach get a coaching spot thing all the time.

IMO we more that proved our merit in recruiting including Mike Miller.

Look out next year, for real.

Christian is still playing ball. Played for the Grizzlies in the Summer League last summer. Played for the Raptors G League team this past season. He has no coaching experience at all that I know of. This Christian needs a job narrative is all BS speculation.
