Final season. Jesus. 03-hissyfit
Such disappointment ... without GRRM's written words, the writers/show-creators failed us.

My watch has ended.
I'd say the pilot had more conversation between characters than the last 3 episodes combined. Massive disappointment.
It was fine. Only criticism is that the the last two episodes and part of episode 4 should have been one whole episode if it was possible. What made the whole series great was the writing and he acting, especially the relationships between the characters

Sandor and Arya

Jamie and Bronn

Jon and Sam plus Tormund

Brienna and Podrick

Sansa and Littlefinger

Tyrion and Varys

......Etc
Like BTM said, it was fine....but just that. Very underwhelming overall.

The only superlative I have is that Peter Dinklage was fabulous in that last episode. I hope he gets an award for this season.

I guess Bran had things cooked up all along.....? His "I didn't come all this way for nothing" and all. The 3 eyed raven can't see into the future, just the past & current happenings elsewhere, IIRC?

No, but if he can see what every single person is doing it becomes a lot easier to guess the future.
I was disappointed because many things made no sense in this created fantasy world.

1. Daenerys had every reason to not trust Jon and yet she throws herself upon him.

2. Drogon - seemingly sentient - flies off to parts unknown with Daenerys for no good reason rather than toasting the living enemies of Daenerys.

3. There as no indication that Bran had ambition for kingship in any part of the show and yet now we learn was his plan all along. It is a cheap way to twist a plot.

4. Ayra (my favorite character) incarnates "Henry the Navigator" rather than stay with the family to whom she has pledged earnest fidelity. And family does not protest. Furthermore, venturing into uncharted waters takes more than one small ship.

5. The Unsullied are suddenly naive and stupid when accepting the Snow "compromise" and leaving no one behind to enforce the deal.

6. The Dorne, a loquacious lot, shy away from material comments on Tyrion's plan.
The final episode was more of an epilogue rather than a series finale. That’s probably where people got upset the most. If Dany laid waste to Kings Landing and had her triumphant speech and then was put away by Jon all with what happened afterwards in one setting then it would have flowed better

Main thing that stuck out with me is that there is no way the other sections of Westeros would have agreed to bow to Bran with the North going their seperate way. If the North was going to be independant, they would have all wanted to be independant, especially the Iron Isles and Dorne. Both of those places have been mostly seperated from everyone else anyway. Dorne was the only kingdom not conquered by the Targaryens. Iron Islands were rebelling on a pretty regular basis throughout history.

Truthfully the unsullied should be naive and stupid, they were not trained to be administrators or politicians.

I don't think Bran planned for it, just saw the threads weaving in that direction and decided that he would be the best for it.

Arya is not going to sit at home in the castle sewing tapestries. Of course she was hitting the hills, just like her direwolf.

Danaerys had no one else left at all. No one to turn to, and according to the story she loves Jon and Jon loves her. Even if there was a level of mistrust I can buy it.

Drogon is a bit head scratchy, but I actually thought he was going to submit to Jon.
Stupid.

Past four seasons, final episodes of S6 aside, freaking stupid.

Good riddance.
is this a joke

i heard hbo planning 3 spin offs
It just feels like Weiss and Benioff have been looking to eject since they found out GRRM wouldn't be finishing his next book like had been expected. I can't blame then for any sense of being let down by promised or anticipated content to adapt. I believe they thought this was an adaptation project, and even if they got notes of where Martin was headed, that is different than adapting picking and choosing detailed content. Even if the ridiculous major plot points of this season came directly from GRRM, it felt rushed. Especially this season. I heard GRRM was trying to get them to do 10 seasons, and they wanted to do 7, and bargained to 8. I sense that when they suspected GRRM wasn't close to publishing the next book, they felt the bill of goods they had been promised was no longer going to happen. So this great franchise is going to hit an unfortunate dip, at least until the prequels which will have different runners. I do feel for the actors, I think for the most part I could feel the effort they (or at least most of 'em) tried to inject into what they were given. Don't know who was responsible for craft services cup and water bottles, though. Maybe that happens with period pieces, like Vikings or Warrior, but I don't recall it happening often.

I don't know what the status of that is. My understanding is only one is currently in progress, already has a show runner and all.

Thats a good post.
And me? I’m still here, and I’m still busy. As a producer, I’ve got five shows in development at HBO (some having nothing whatsoever to do with the world of Westeros), two at Hulu, one on the History Channel. I’m involved with a number of feature projects, some based upon my own stories and books, some on material created by others. There are these short films I am hoping to make, adaptations of classic stories by one of the most brilliant, quirky, and original writers our genre has ever produced. I’ve consulted on a video game out of Japan. And then there’s Meow Wolf…

easy to see how he hasnt finished writing a book.
