JMU coming in at #17
She is ranked right there with the other “teacher” schools. I don’t see what your problem is!

The US News Rankings are so pointless. There are way too many subjective criteria to make them valid at all

That is embarrassing. We are tied with Shenandoah University. I didnt even know that was a school. As long as we stay ranked in tier 1, Im satisfied, but I hate being leapfrogged by all these schools in the state. GMU, VCU, CNU, now Regent.... wait for it, Radford will be next.

I know people like everything in their world quantified in some way (that's why we love and hate the polls) but there's no formula that can conclusively rank every school top to bottom for every student. Obviously there's Harvard and Yale on one end and for-profit diploma mills on the other, but fleshing out the in-between is way harder than people make it out to be.

JMU is "17th" because it's considered a regional university. They rank the national universities first, then national liberal arts college, then regional universities. Shenandoah is NOT a better school than Washington & Lee or Richmond, or for that matter JMU. But they are considered a national university.

Where is Radford ?
05-16-2019, 07:29 PM
Hampton? Longwood? I would think HU would/should land somewhere in the top 10 for the state

Hah Radford not even on the tweet.

Not 1 HBCU? Yet Sweet Briar, a school that had announced it was closing, then was placed on accreditation warning is listed? GTFOOGWTBS

Back when JMU was ranked 1 or 2, regional-South, those guys were all over the accuracy and integrity of the USNWR ranking. Ever since they dropped below Elon in that category, not so much.

Yeah I'm always lurking with you guys. HU is better in some things and NSU is better than others. Both schools should be listed well before Sweet Briar.
