A unique aspect of the GS golf team is that the starting five right now are all from the state of Georgia. You have to look hard to find a school that starts five Americans much less one that starts five in-state players.

Very true. We've got two Slovenians, both named Luca. They're our two best golfers too.

Yeah our situation is different. We'd struggle to field a 5 man team period of all Arkansas kids. Golf just isn't big enough here for it to work.

I just don't get why any good Arkansan would play a game that you hit a ball with a club then chase it. That's why I love baseball. Let another guy to after it.

In golf we play with our own balls. We don’t chase other men’s balls.

Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina have the best golf in the US.

Shouldn't be hard for schools like Georgia Southern, Georgia State, and Coastal Carolina to recruit local and be competitive year in, year out.
Too bad nobody nationally cares about college golf.
California has the best golf

It’s picking up steam. In the last few years Golf Channel has started covering the championship live.
Is it the Golf channel or ESPN? Anyway, I have watched it the last 2 yrs, as golf goes very entertaining, much better than any pro event.

The land of perpetual drought has the best golf? I don't think so.

Michigan/Wisconsin/Minnesota is another great location for golfers, but only during a select time of year. Florida/Georgia/South Carolina still has the best climate.

I don't know how you all are defining "best golf" but the NE has some amazing courses - without looking at the top 100 I would guess they have more than any other region. But the best golfers should come from warm climates where they can practice / play year round.

Georgia State ... Four internationals on its roster.
After the first round of the NCAA regionals Georgia Southern is in 3rd place in the Stanford regional and Arkansas State is in 10th place in the Louisville regional.
So top 5 teams from each Regional advance and as of now GS is still 3rd at the Stanford Regional. stAte is T9 in the Louisville Regional so hopefully they can make a run and get in there as well.

Ours is going to end up being a close race. State will have to shoot somewhere in the realm of a -15 tomorrow to play for a top 5 spot.
