Any updates from the game?
was Tyrik Henderson on the sidelines? Haven't heard a thing about him this spring other than he was hurt but don't know extent of injury.
I’m guessing anyone that went to the spring game today is either blind drunk or passed out on the couch, thus no updates.
Bowers put on a SHOW!

Lol
The Huskie roster is loaded with running backs. I do not believe Marcus Jones or Tre Harbison got any playing time. I was impressed with #30 Rahveon Valentine and #20 Jordan Rowell.

Anthony Thompson puts a little zip on the ball when he throws it. It looks like he could be competing with Childers for the starting job, although Childers seems to know the offense better.

Huskies did not throw too many deep passes downfield, so it looks like it could be the same conservative Huskie passing game we have been used to, although in the post game lunch, our new OC kind of hinted that they were playing their cards close to the vest, and there are a few surprises they have not yet revealed.

The game itself did not have any Team DeKalb vs Team Sycamore or Offense vs Defense nature to it. It was just a bunch of practice plays.

I was surprised how many spectators showed up for a 9:00 am spring game. Not too many students, as you could figure.
I usually take a lot of mental notes and see whats going on at all positions, but Saturday I was just enjoying the atmosphere, weather and beer. So I don't have much to relay, but there wasn't too many things that were report worthy. O-line play was better. Didn't note who was in though. Wasting too much time watching wr and qb positions. Thompson is a better athlete than Childers, but Childers is the better QB. He was solid. No wr really stood out. Tears and Richie both made some plays but both had some drops. Robinson was fine. Tucker was in but I didn't notice if he caught a pass. Hall looked better. Koko is quick but muffed a punt.

Valentine did look really nice at tb. Quick. He was the only guy who stood out on O. Passing game did improve from last scrimmage. Not quite the greatest show on turf yet.

I zoned out on watching defense.

Roster changes from Spring Roster to Huskie Bowl roster:
Jiya Wright QB -> S
Joshua Earl S -> DB
Nathan Harman LB -> FB
Rodney Hall QB -> WR
Cortez Hogans LB -> DE

New Names
Ishaun Walker WR
Dylan Binion RB
I thought both #20 and #30 looked pretty good running the ball. #19 had a few catches. Crawford dropped a couple but if the TEs catch the ball that will be a strong group. Also, do they practice catching the ball with one hand? Looked like it.

Also I thought I saw Harbs and Jones getting carries in the beginning.

I don't see much difference between Childers and Thompson. And it still looked like the defense was winning the day again.

19 is Jyran Mitchell. The converted qb. I like him, he looks the part. He is more fluid than Hall, who to me looks more like a rb trying to play wr.

TE will be good as long as Brinkman is out there. He is clearly the best TE. Dudes got tree trunk legs.

Harbs and Jones both got a few carries early then just chilled. Clearly the 1s and not risking injury. Brinkman wasn’t in much either.

Yea Mitchell looked good. The QBs didn't make any impression on me other than inconsistency but I would be very curious to see what Thompson looks like in an actual game. Who was it that caught that last TD pass from Thompson down the west sideline?

Richie I think. He definitely had one that way. Don’t recall if anyone else did. Thompson looks fast and throws a nice ball. But when he misses, man, he gets his money’s worth.

Ha, I'm not sure what happened on that one pass, he must have been 10 yards short of the WR.
My biggest takeaway was despite the early start the overall attendance was significantly more than recent years.

Lot of families with kids. Great to see.

The “gear” sale had literally hundreds go through and was packed when it opened.

The HAF luncheon tables were all full to hear Hammock and the OC & DC.
Freeman was there. Chessicks too.
Where is everybody? Awfully quiet on here for the past week.

Good question...I was expecting there to be a bunch of follow ups on Spring Game

From what I've gathered so far, still more of the same, if not slightly better from Childers...WRs still underwhelming...Hopefully that changes with Bowers

Hogan's move is BIG. He played well as a true FR last year at LB. Fills out a little will be a force.
I was there for the first 90 minutes...

Don't really have a ton to report.

If Bowers isn't the starter against ISU, i'll eat my shoe in the middle of Lincoln Highway. Childers looked about the same. Really struggled throwing the deep ball in drills early on. Did hit Tears on a nice post route in 7 on 7s. Also led a nice TD drive on the first possession of scrimmaging.

I probably would have given a slight edge to Thompson before they started scrimmaging. Thompson throws a nice ball, but when he misses he REALLY misses. He hit Richie on a perfect deep ball on 1 on 1s.

McKee and Hainey were the 1's at CB. I think McKee is far and away the best of the bunch right now.

Bonds picked off Childers in 7 on 7.

I though Richie looked REALLY good. He did have a drop, but he looks to be Brown's replacement in the slot. Had a TD catch on a bubble from Childers on the first possession of scrimmaging.

Richardson looked terrible on field goals.

Rowell looks/runs a hell of a lot bigger than he's listed.
