He wants to play next year, what does everybody think?
I think he will, but he'll have to gain the respect back from all the OSU coaches, fans, and alumni. Personally, I don't think he'll play much if he comes back next year.
You are right that he will have to regain respect and probably will never fully regain it. But if he plays, he will be the man. It is all or nothing.
are you kidding? of course he'll play, and he'll be a heisman candidate mark my words. He starts workouts soon and will be ready 100% for the season.
It will be interesting to see how this is handled. On the one hand, he spit in the face of OSU. On the other hand, the guy is one heck of a running back. Tough call.
The decision is if he will play. Once that is decided, he will play, and as ksudude said, will be one of the best tailbacks in the nation.
I think he will play at OSU again, even though I don't think it's right since he did try to sue the school. He'll definitely be gone after the '04 season, that's for sure.
Now Clarett is not as sure that he wants to play at OSU. It will be interesting to see if he will be in an OSU uni next season.
If Clarett comes back it will keep us a top 5 team. Buckeyes fans should welcome him back with open arms. The offense held us back last year and there is no young superstar at this point to take his place at running back.

True. Some OSU fans would probably still be mad at him for a wasted season. They would have EASILY been the best team in college football with him last season.
He is now eligible for the NFL Draft. He should stay though, he is not ready for the pros.
He'll do great, whichever he chooses....He's got a ton of talent, if he decides to enter the draft I'd be surprised if he goes past the early 2nd round.

As far as all the "he isn't ready" talk on ESPN, it's BS. He's stronger than 90% of the NFL RB's.

A year of college would definitely help him though.

If he chooses to enter, his workouts will be more important in determining where he goes than any other player.
I honestly think he would return to the buckeyes if this gambling thing didnt just come out. :bang: Then again it sounds like the NFL isn't to happy about it either. He comes back to school, wins a heisman trophy and he is a top 5 pick and he knows(even though he says he doesnt care where he is drafted  ) that you get a whole lot more money being a top 5 pick rather than a 3rd rounder with doubts. But who knows if he would even be reinstated now. :chair:

We don't know much about the gambling thing, hopefully that won't be the one thing that keeps him out of a Buckeye uniform next season. If Clarett would come back, I honestly think it would come down to him and Chris Leak for Heisman. People gotta realize that Clarett could have picked up about 600 more yards and a few more TD's had he been healthy.
Clarett will officially enter the draft. Bad move, but he will be the best back in the draft after Turner IMO.
Correct me if I'm wrong....but I don't think that it's official YET. So far, I've only heard that his lawyers have said that he'll enter the draft, nothing from Clarett himself.

....although, chances are (if he hasn't) he will be making it official before the draft.

You're right, it was just his lawyer. However, I expect he will be gone.
Clarett told his lawyers he would, so he has basically verbally committed.
He has to declare himself eligible for the draft before the deadline (Mar 1, I think).....so far he hasn't, so nothing is official YET. So, us Buckeye fans can still dream of him returning....no matter how slim the chance of it happening. 03-wink
