Last night on WLW-TV sports cast George Vogel reported Nysier Brooks will transfer.
I guess they were banking on Savino getting hired.
TBH I don't know if he fits in with the style of play Brannen will put in here. He's more suited for a half-court game.

Evidence suggests we'll run more but there will be plenty of half court. Nku was a fairly average tempo team during his time there. This isn't going to be up and down Roy Williams basketball. I suspect Brooks would be fine under brannen.
If Brannen is going to press, there is PLENTY of opportunity for Nysier, with his rim protection ability.
I still wonder if he will change his mind once he meets with Coach Brannen. He would have to sit out a year unless he is going to go down to the lower levels, which likely will hurt his NBA chances. Sounds like the family is bitter that Coach Brannen gave them their space when the family was dealing with a funeral. Hopefully this will work itself out and Nas has the chance to flourish next season.

No worries, everyone. There's probably a grad transfer center in the wings (hooray, grad transfers!) from Lehigh who is 6'10, 205 and shot 26% from 3 last season who can "stretch the floor" for us. The consolation would be that he grabs 3.2 rebounds/40 minutes and is guaranteed to get dunked on 3 times/game. Hooray, shooters!

Wouldn't you also think that Tre Scott could *potentially* fill that void at the "5" if need be, considering it appears that Brannen prefers a stretch there?

Who? I checked Lehigh's roster and saw nobody listed at 6'10" #205.
So, did his handlers talk to Coach Brannen since Nysier was out of town or did they make the decision to transfer without even a one on one in person meeting with the new coach to hear him out? And if the latter, what the heck kind of decision tree was used for that????

No problem with people transferring out but I would assume you at least hear the new coach out, you know, meet him, talk to him, as questions and THEN make a decision. At least this is how I hope it went down. Otherwise, that really flawed judgement and bad decision making on display.

From the comments on twitter sounds as if they have no desire to talk with Brannen. Maybe they are under the delusion Brooks is headed to UCLA as well

I don't believe for a second that Brannen showed any disrespect to Brooks or his "handlers." The tweet from his guardian sounded like that of a spoiled child. I hope he comes to his senses and hears Brannen out, but if not, next man in.

If they thought Brooks was headed to UCLA then this makes a little more sense. And if so, little odd as he is 24 and will have to sit out a year I assume. Oh well, onward and upward.

But I will add, even if the above is true (lets just assume for sake of argument)...the family looks disingenuous and intellectually dishonest by posting/implying that Brooks is leaving because they have not heard from Coach Brannen. Whatever.

Completely delusional. Why waste his time at UCLA when he can go straight to the Golden State Warriors?

He's 22, but if he has to sit a year which i think in his case would be likely, he'd be 24 after playing that final year of eligibility which would be nuts.

...unless he's a grad transfer. Otherwise, he has to sit. Is he going to play for money overseas?
Do these "handlers" know that new I-phones make outgoing calls too?

The "We haven't heard from him" excuse is nothing more than a setup.

It's not like the 1900's when you had to catch someone by the phone. I'm pretty sure that if they called Brannen, he'd answer.
You would think an assistant principal would know better than to mouth off on twitter. Great role model for the students. Don’t like something, go on social media to complain about it.

You could say the same about Brannen. He's the one who has to convince these guys to play for him.

We don't know what has happened or what is happening, and everyone is freaking out about one tweet.
