This weekend’s league series:

ULM (5-7) at App St (5-7)
UTA (8-4) at Ark St (8-4)
Texas St (7-5) at Ga Southern (7-5)
Troy (5-7) at GaSt (2-10)
Coastal Carolina (8-4) at Little Rock (7-5)
South Alabama (4-8) at Louisiana (6-6)

A number of compelling matchups this coming weekend
Mid-Week games this week:

Tuesday:
App State @ Western Carolina
UAB @ Troy
Arkansas-Pine Bluff @ Little Rock
#24 Baylor @ UTA
Texas State @ #10 Texas A&M
La Tech @ Louisiana
Central Arkansas @ Arkansas State

Wednesday:
Kennesaw State @ Georgia Southern
Mercer @ Georgia State
McNeese State @ Louisiana
Arkansas State @Memphis
South Alabama @ #6 Mississippi State
Coastal @ #4 North Carolina State
Alabama State @ Troy
Appalachian State @ UNC-Asheville
App @ Western Carolina cancelled due to weather.
Early congrats to Troy on moving to 8-7 in league play
Texas State leading A&M 5-1.
UTA tied with Baylor in the 7th.

At least one of these Texas teams needs to win.
AState working on a few things against UCA as we try to figure out a way to produce offensively without Kyle McDonald. A few better results today, as I think we now have more 2 out hits today than we did the entire weekend in Lafayette.

Red Wolves lead UCA 6-1 in the 7th.
AState's bullpen decided to make things entertaining by walking 6 hitters in the 8th and 9th innings alone, but 5 K's kept UCA From becoming a serious threat beyond getting the tying run to the plate with 2 outs in the 9th

6-4 Final in favor of the Red Wolves.

We seemed to morph at times tonight between the team that streaked out to a 19-9 start and the team that went 1-4 last week. It was better than whatever that disaster was that showed up last weekend, but still not good enough to win a league series against UTA this weekend.
FINAL

We got you homie.

Bobcats take down #10 Texas A&M 5-3.
Troy lost to UAB because we have the worst closer in the country. He gave UAB the game.

I know we’re not exactly relevant in baseball, but we also have a game Wednesday at home vs Northwestern State.

You had tied the game and had runners at second and third with one out in the ninth. That had nothing to do with a closer.

Ever heard of a squeeze?
Neither team is doing great this season, but it's the weekend we all look forward to every year.

South Alabama is coming to town. There's never been a better baseball rivalry in the Sun Belt than the Jags and Cajuns.

He came in the top of the 9th in order to keep UAB from scoring more (game was already 5-3 UAB).

He gave up a hit, and then after giving up an intentional walk to hopefully get a double play with bases loaded, he walked the batter and gave UAB a free run to make it 6-3.

Then Troy works to tie up the game in the bottom of the 9th, and fortunately makes it a 6-6 game.

Then the closer comes back in, and gives up a solo home run that cleared the 30 ft. wall in center field, on a pitch that was mistakenly left too high, which gave UAB all they needed to win.

There have been a few different occasions where Troy has been fortunate to win close games when he has been closing. I know of others we have lost because of his bad location with his pitching and his problem with walks.

So the worst closer in the history of the game gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of a meaningless midweek game? Facetious much?

Our closer gave up 2 runs on 1 hit and 3 walks in the 9th. By that standard he must be the worst closer in the history of the universe
At least yall have closers. We literally don't this year.

Well... here's a clip of our pitcher in action, just so you have proof.

You tied the game and had runners at second and third with one out. Regardless of what happened in the top of the ninth, the game was right there for you to win.

And the fact the game got untied next inning doesn't change the fact you should have won the game.
