After first few opening drives by each team, here are some observations.. Lucero and Johnston both have a pretty zip and tight spiral on their passes, but have had problems connecting with their receivers. Brown isn’t playing. Larry Wooden, RB for Green, runs hard and is very agile.
Green team goes for it on 4th and 1 at their own 40 and gets it on a Wooden run. Next play, Johnston connects on a 35+ yard pass to Watkins.
Vogel’s 36-yard attempt from the left hash is good just over the right upright. Green team leads 10-0 with 2:05 left in 1Q.
