I know a lot of you are bummed that we got handed a 14 seed. Rice women’s team (ranked #21) got a 12 seed. How in the heck?

I know RPI isn't used as much, but I think they were like #30 or so.
The women's committee hates mid majors even more than men's.
Princeton was undefeated a few years ago and got an 8 seed.

I see that South Carolina's subregional is going to be at UNC Charlotte. Surprised they didn't keep it in state. (can't play at home due to the men's tournament)
The selections' were bizarre UCONN loses to two number one seeds on the road (Baylor, Louisville) and beat #1 seed ND. I really think the committee was looking for ANY reason to rank UCONN at two. Then you have the disrespect of Rice. And the at large bid of a UCF team as a 12th team? Yes UCF is ranked 15th in the nation in RPI, but playing UCONN three tmes in a season will help out your RPI.

I really hope Rice pulls up an upset over Marquette.
For such a young team this is HUGE ! Extra practice times and the experience of a national tournament will pay dividends for this team. If this team can win a game or 2, it will give a huge boast for this team.
