I mean, we'll find out soon enough if we're allowed or not, but was it worth killing the whole thing?

You say one thing. TripleA says another.

One of you is a liarface and said liarface will be banned.

To TripleA's point, the American seems to have closed the book on it, but that seems to be news to the USF beat writer and several people in the USF athletic office...

USFFan
But it's also news to the CBI:

Wonder who this other South Florida is that's hosting Stonybrook?

USFFan
TripleA is a big liarface. And USF belongs in the MVC.
So did USF go against Aresco??
West Virgina in the CBI too though. And DePaul. So two other Top 7 conference teams
Cringeworthy for West Vag and USF.

Lol

Idc even if it is mid-major this will only be a positive for the conference in a young team getting extra playing time, more practice, and maybe bringing a few.casuals.interest. I would accept ECU or Tulane for this next year as well. Not really sure you will ever get a chance again so go out and win it. Seven teams still playing, one who will be better for sure next year in UConn. One improving in ECU and one making moves in Tulane. If Tulsa and SMU start getting it together like they should this will be a lot of fun.

Let's see what you can do Bulls, bull speed ahead!

There are a couple other major teams in there. Get that young team more tournament games

You're assuming the CIT slash CBI has no standards and feels no shame. Maybe you're right.
USF must have a Big XII invite in the works.

Maybe Aresco is a liarface. Will be interesting to see what happens. I'm not the only one who saw or heard him say that.
This is great for USF. Our basketball has been horrible the past several years after the coach OA fiasco. Gregory seems to really know what he is doing, and the rebuild has been faster than anyone expected. Any postseason play is better than none.

Don't I remember ECU winning the CBI tournament a few years ago?

Congrats to the 4 in the NCAA, and 2 in the NIT. Nicely done!

If by a few years ago, you mean before they were in the AAC...

For the three teams who have had little success this makes a lot of sense especially for Dooley and Gregory who have clearly shown their teams improve drastically in the season exposed to high level coaching. Both teams looked completely different from last year. A new Tulane coach might also benefit.

Where it is a waste and shouldn't be allowed is with the other 9 programs who should be capable of making the NIT minimal. Then using the CBI to pad wins or inflate team perception. It could give a high return to a climbing team but shouldn't be a crutch for programs who are capable of much more.

Shame has nothing to do with it. These two tournaments are for-profit businesses. Schools have to pay the business owners a required fee to participate.
Not entirely sure, but just reading a bit, it seems that pay for play is not entirely accurate. You pay the fee, to help offset costs for the visiting teams(s), but keep the gate. You can actually make money if you get good crowds.

Again, reading a bit about these tournaments... looks like CIT is only non P5. But past winners of the CBI include Oregon, Oregon State, VCU.
