Sure it ain't over til it's over. But this isn't a 5- or 7-game series.

Exactly. One bad bounce tomorrow and our season is over.

Says every team at some point in the season. Welcome to ours.

Yeah, but you've gotta take Game 1 when you're a heavy favorite at home. Now we've given CC confidence.

Just got to beat the same team back-to-back now. Miami aside, something we haven't done since January.
Heavy favorite? This team swept Denver last weekend.

Yes, a 3-seed at home is a pretty heavy favorite to a 6-seed team.
Then what you guys all freaking out about? A heavy favorite should have no trouble winning the next 2.

This isn't about CC. This is about a very-talented WMU team wetting the bed again in the post-season.
Our offense can't hit the broad-side of a barn with those shots.
Why the f is the PP so bad?????? Is there a PP coach like NHL? Need a new one ASAP if so!

So another year missing the NCAA Tourney is okay?
If we don’t get in after this series it won’t be because of this series. It’ll have a lot to do with the dreadful start to the season. We are a good team, I think you slightly over estimate who we are though. We’re the best team in Michigan sure, but we are a bubble NCAA program. We’ve shown that all year, if you look at it in its entirety.

True. The start to the season was trash and a clear indicator we weren't making the NCAA Tourney again.

We didn't wet the bed tonight. It was a very close game. Both goaltenders played well. Both offenses generated some good scoring chances. It's like you've never watched a close hockey game between 2 good teams before.

Oh it was a great game, very close. Either team could've won. But like we generally do with Andy Murray in the post-season, we lose.

I was thinking the opposite, in that it's the recent performance that damaged our chances.

We went 12-2-1 from mid-November to end of January. 4-5 since February (not counting tonight).

To be clear, I'm not writing off the series nor calling for Andy Murray's head.

But in any sport, it's obviously tough as the home team in a playoff series to give up Game #1. Especially in a 3-game series.
Disappointing start...certainly nothing that can’t be overcome. CC seems to really be playing well defensively of late.

Our 4-6 start including 4 losses against teams not playoff bound.

Only 1 win against a playoff bound team in our first 22 games!!

That’s what’ll keep us out if we don’t make it. The “hot streak” while fun basically is evened out by the bland start.
How about we talk about all this post mortem BS after they actually lose the series.

Big game tomorrow night. Go Broncos!!
CC had a pretty interesting home/away schedule.

8 of their last 11 regular season games were at home. Prior to that stretch, 9 of 10 games on the road.
Well, if it’s any positive, the previous three times we’ve lost game 1 at home in the playoffs we’ve won the next two to win the series.

LSSU in 2009
Ferris 2011
Omaha 2017

Let’s hope the trend continues

I'm thinking tomorrow 8-2 CC

Ah crap. This means we're due to lose game 2.

Well put you on the record. If you are right you can tell us all you told us so. But if we win you can’t post here until after game 3. Deal?

At this point I don't really care about beating CC because apparently we need to win a game in Minnesota too to make the NCAA Tourney and I don't see that happening. Well. It was fun season I guess. I'm ready for baseball season.
So......the deal is in place then?
So opponent lands in Kalamazoo after days stuck trying to fly out and we still can’t get on top of them? This series is over. So tired of this kind of BS coming out of this team...

Sure. But when we lose tomorrow, I'm going to be too frustrated to post for a few months.
In all reality, this team did this to their selves to get a red hot CC team. One more NCHC win or tie could have gotten us 2nd place and 7th place lowly Omaha as we only finished one point behind Duluth.

Yeah we split two games a piece with them but I would have rather played them then CC.

It is what it is, we will see this teams true colors tomorrow night
