The statement was just tweeted out by Drew Hill. I cannot link from where I'm posting - sorry. In essence Wade says that on the advice of counsel he's not cooperating with the LSU Administration. And as a result he was suspended from his duties. I suppose he is going public now has a way, at least in his mind, put pressure on the LSU administration to reinstate him. The suspension and all the unknowns may also be hurting recruiting.
Not exactly the thing you want to do if you want to keep relationships in high places. I suspect this might make the decision for them a little bit easier. It also looks very desperate on the part of Wade.
Drowning people frequently take others down with them.

If Wade has been caught up in some huge, horrible mistake as he suggests, it seems to me he would want to get that resolved as soon as possible and get back on the job. I mean his sworn testimony in the last half of April will be the same thing he tells LSU and the NCAA investigators - right?
He is so ******. This has nothing to do with him ever coaching again at LSU. He knows that time is gone. What he is doing is trying, in vain, to set the stage for a unlawful termination lawsuit for when(not if) LSU fires him for cause and refuses to pay out his contract.

He is right not to meet with LSU or NCAA investigators because he is in so much trouble with the FBI. But LSU is right to fire him for not cooperating too.

LSU can easily do without Wade. He is not strategically important to a program with massive resources and fan support. Wade is in the “save as money as he can” mode.
Got to love the ego of so many coaches out there.

1. He is literally caught on a wiretap talking about paying recruits. Refers to it as "rumors, leaks and innuendo."
2. Is under investigation for possibly committing federal crimes and refuses to speak to his employer about it and claims he was placed on leave for exercising his constitutional rights

Hey I paid players (broke NCAA rules) and committed federal crimes as an agent of this University and was caught on tape admitting it. I have ruined my career, smeared the reputation of the University, destroyed the college playing careers of young men and effectively negated at least a full season of basketball but I am the victim here!!! You cannot make this kind of comedy and idiocy up.
he aint did nothing. when the dust settles and the truth comes out he'll be back on the court

Yep
“I was thinking last night on this Smart thing,” Wade said. “I’ll be honest with you, I’m [expletive] tired of dealing with the thing. Like I’m just [expletive] sick of dealing with the [expletive]. Like, this should not be that [expletive] complicated.”

“Dude,” Wade continued to Dawkins, referring to the third party involved in the recruitment, “I went to him with a [expletive] strong-ass offer about a month ago. [Expletive] strong.

“The problem was, I know why he didn’t take it now, it was [expletive] tilted toward the family a little bit,” Wade continued. “It was tilted toward taking care of the mom, taking care of the kid. Like it was tilted towards that. Now I know for a fact he didn’t explain everything to the mom. I know now, he didn’t get enough of the piece of the pie in the deal.”

Dawkins responded by saying, “Hmmmm.”

“It was a [expletive] hell of a [expletive] offer,” Wade continued. “Hell of an offer.”

“OK,” Dawkins said.

“Especially for a kid who is going to be a two- or three-year kid,” Wade said.
Longer it takes LSU to fire him with cause, the longer those fat paychecks roll in. Of course he's not going to cooperate.

Dude is sitting home on the couch making 200K a month right now. He would be wise to shut the F up, if he ever wants to coach again, ANYWHERE. Don’t make it out like you did nothing wrong and are getting dealt a bad hand. His best option is silence, out of sight and out of mind.

Yep. Absolutely.

He’s done anyway.
Whether he did anything or not, he’s only toast for as long as it takes the next bread to get toasted.
I think this trial in April will change the landscape boys and girls. There could be high profile coaches who leave big time programs to get away from the stain so to speak of all this. The coaching carousel will definetly be interesting to watch over the summer.
