I will keep on blogging and trying to find interesting facts and articles to help the off-season go by. And I hope the faithful few will still post opinions, rumors, and out-right lies here on the board. This was a discouraging season, and I am not optimistic about the immediate future, but we'll hang in there with the Trojans.

I must say that I did really enjoy following Kris Bankston's season. That was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in basketball.
Pappy, I appreciate your efforts to keep the board afloat. I enjoy reading your posts and giving my opinions as well. Never been easy being a Trojan fan- I don't count the ones who jump on the bandwagon when we have a great season now and then as "fans". I've always pulled for the underdog so being a Trojan fan is a natural for me.

Ain't it the truth!
Why so pessimistic? We have talent, three 3-star players who can play, plus bankston and Nikola. Just need a bit more depth and with 2 more 3-star players coming we are getting good depth. If Rayjon stays we will have five 3-stars on the roster .
We ended the season on a 6 game losing streaking. We finished at the bottom of the league for the second straight year. I saw no improvement over the course of the season, but saw regression instead (yes, I'm sure injuries played a role). I am very concerned about who may transfer out. So there is definitely reason for pessimism. On the other hand, once we see who stays and Darrell starts to build up the new recruits I'm sure I'll become more optimistic. That's what Trojan fans do.
Stars are nice on paper, but I'll take 2 stars (or less?) like Derek Fisher, Josh Hagins, etc. any day.

I agree with your assessment, but have not drawn the same conclusion as you did. If we had that sort of talent and did not do any better than we did, then the problem perhaps is not talent.

And you will likely suffer through several mediocre seasons with 1 good season every now and then. If you want to compete every year with the likes of Georgia state then you need to recruit like Georgia state does. Georgia state has on its roster a 4 star and three 3 star athletes and a 2.7 and 2.3 player. Stars do equal better players which equals competing for titles year after year. Western Kentucky did it. Middle Tennessee did it.
