The latest bracketology I've seen has both Clemson and NC State as Last Four In. Since they play each other in the ACCT tomorrow, does that mean one of them will be knocked off the bubble for certain, or is there any chance they both stay in?

I think that might be determined by how the winner of the game plays against Virginia.

If Clemson or State lose close, then the winner hangs with or beats UVa, that loser probably still has a shot.

Virginia should win. Louisville is the sleeper.

Clemson has to win to stay alive. NC State should be in no matter what because already have 20+ wins and NET ratings is 30ish.

That link has a pic of Oklahoma's football stadium in the background. 0-2!
I was predicting ‘Cuse would make a run to the ACC final four at least, because of Old Jim magic, but idk if they even look like an at-large tonight.

I don't know if you consider someone who has a double bye a sleeper but I have FSU as my sleeper because no one is talking about them and they're pretty good.
My prediction is that the Tournament will be back where it belongs in 2020.

It's where it belongs this year - although last year wasn't so bad.
Form seems to be holding. The top 8 seeds are all in the quarterfinals, and the 9 seed only lost out by 1 point.

Don't get me wrong, if I were the Czar of the ACC...

1) I'd do away with the double-byes; the only team that would get a first-round bye would be the #1 seed. No more 10 vs 15 seed first round games - now it would be 2 vs 15, etc. -- MUCH better for tv.

2) I'd dictate that the season must end no later than Thursday, the week before the ACCT -- UNC/Duke would have to move up a few days, but could become the Big Monday season finale.*

3) I'd play the first round in NYC every year - at MSG - the weekend before the rest of the ACCT. This would involve seeds #2 through #15, with 3 games on day 1 and 4 more on day 2. Those 14 teams would share tickets to MSG, but I'd sell half of the tickets to the general public.

4) The 7 teams that escape round 1 would join the #1 seed - in Greensboro - for the remaining rounds, which would begin on Thursday. Those 8 teams would share tickets to GC, but I'd also have some (upper deck) tix reserved for the general public.

I negotiate with ESPN for a separate TV contract for the ACCT, which would now play out like TWO tournaments. I'm thinking about an extra $10M per year.

The first round would cater to fans who live in or near NYC; the last 3 rounds would be especially for boosters. Selling TWO sets of tickets to the same tournament - even though they won't have quite as much value individually - would also bring in more money.

* I suppose you could end the season on Friday and play the first round Sunday/Monday, but that's really pushing it, IMO.

BOTTOM LINE: Better TV, more money, more tickets for all teams, more NYC, more Greensboro. More, More, More.

PS. I laid out the whole thing here: https://accbasketballrx.blogspot.com/201...ament.html
I know I will definitely be in the extreme minority on this, but I always preferred the 12-team Big East tourney where those teams ranked below 12 stayed home. Top 4 get byes, tourney runs 4 days from Wednesday through Saturday night. Hated when they expanded it to all teams with 2008-09 tourney and did so basically because of the coaches constantly whining year in and year out. Why not have a 350 plus team NCAA national tourney then? And what happens if indeed some conferences get to 18, 20, 22, or 24???

Cheers,
Neil
I'm a HUGE Seminole basketball fan right now... Go FSU!
