IS OVER.

Texas Tech or Kansas St will either share or win the Big 12 basketball title outright this year depending Saturdays results

In 3, 2, 1, Chris Beard is leaving for UT and Kansas sucks this year comments. LOL
My late parents as K State alumni would be happy. Especially my dad who played on the Freshman Basketball team with some dude named Jack Ramsey (heard he had a run as an NBA coach)

So which Big 12 team(s) will be upset in the first round?
A truly terribly overrated conference. This streak is definitely one reason it's in impossible to take this conference seriously.

The conference is not overrated. In answer to your question, the team that could possibly be upset in the first round is Kansas. They are not playing well right now.
That streak was ridiculous. Gonzaga didn't even do that in the WCC.

I think I asked this before but what P4 school do you root for? You obviously think Tech and the Big 12 are overrated. If I had to guess, nope nevermind.
KU and Dollar Bill Self didn't pay enough this year.

They’re going to get Bucknell’d or Bradley’d this year. You can see it a mile away.

Tech and KSU should go deep again.
The run of 14 consecutive conference championships began in 2004, the second year under Bill Self.

To put it into perspective,
the Jayhawks went 196-43 in one of the toughest conferences in college basketball.
They shared the title only four times, twice with Texas
and once apiece with Kansas State and Oklahoma.

They also won 8 Big 12 Tourney Championships

And they parlayed their league success into national success,
NCAA Tourney Seeding
8—-#1 seeds
3—-#2 seeds
2—-#3 seeds
1— #4 seeds

Reaching 9 Sweet 16’s, 7 Elite Eights, 3 Final Fours, two title games and beating Memphis to win the 2008 championship.

The streak goes back so far, the Big 12 was actually 12 teams when it began.
Nebraska, Colorado, Texas A&M and Missouri have since defected, and TCU and West Virginia have jumped aboard.

After organizing the picks of the last 14 NBA Drafts
— since Self’s first completed season w/ the Jayhawks in 2004:
4 top 5 picks
11 Lottery (Top 14) Picks
14 First Rd Picks

Oklahoma State in 2004, under Eddie Sutton,
became the last team other than Kansas to hoist the Big 12 league trophy.

As far as RPI as a conference
Big 12 is #1 “again”
w/ a 100-30 record vs. OOC opponents
winning @ a 77% clip
Let's not pretend that Kansas is a bad team this year. Kansas played a TOUGH schedule.

They beat Villanova, Marquette, Wofford, Tennessee, and Michigan State. Those are all ranked teams. How many other teams even played 5 currently ranked teams outside their conference?
Kansas has lost too many players this year to make a deep run in the tournament.

Well said.

Any rumors about tcu and Creighton we need to be aware of?

Kansas is Kansas and they will be in the hunt regardless of players.
Texas Tech just wrapped up at least a share of the Big 12 basketball championship.

Wreck em Texas Tech.
K State whipped OU at home, and took the #1 seed.

Way to go Wildcats!
Congrats to both KSU and Tech for ending Kansas' streak. Not sure what kind of run K-State is capable of but Tech is one of the hottest teams in the nation right now. Definite final four contender.

Thanks and good luck to UH.

#1 in a meaningless conference tourney. I applaud K-State but they will likely be seeded below Texas Tech in the only tourney that matters, the NCAA tourney.

Yes, congrats to K-State. I expected nothing less from you. Maybe Scrooch can tell us how bad the Big 12 sucks and we can have a real party04-cheers
#1 means Texas Tech has to beat KU to get to the Championship game. K State doesn't.
Congrats B12 champs KSU!

We had a really fun game against them in the SEC challenge series this year!
