Entering transfer portal to pursue...….Basketball.
His twin bro chose BBall over football out of high school.

I think the twin ended up at Bradley.
NIU BBall could use him

Amir and his brother were great hoops players in high school and his brother is on the team at Bradley. Amir is probably more of a finished product at hoops than football where he was learning a new position. Best of luck to him.

For the record, my previous comment was not a shot at the young man's playing ability, I'm sure he's a fine basketball player and may be able to help on the court as well.

Your powers of deduction can lead you to which deficiency that commentary was directed.

I laughed.
I’m very interested in seeing how good he is at basketball now?
Found this in a 247sports team capsule from last year...

Dual-threat quarterback Jyran Mitchell is a quick, elusive prospect who fits the offense in DeKalb. 6-foot-3, 185-pound Amir Brummett is listed as an athlete, but we like his chances to be one of Mitchell's favorite targets as a wide receiver.

Not to be I guess.

It would not have been if he stayed either as Jyran Mitchell is learning a new position as a WR (instead of QB).

I saw this retweet and honestly thought it was in jest....I'm the dumb***. Good luck to him he is a hell of an athlete.
Amir did play in the first few games. I assume he might have been the most athletic freshman we had just still learning football.

He says he’s planning on going JUCO for a year to help with the transition.

Pretty risky move. Hammock supported his decision but also told him you’re a pretty good football player. “You better not be leaving football to average 8 points a game in basketball “.
He added 20 lbs. that would have been huge this year. He probably would have started.
The journey to pro basketball will be way harder unless he already plays at a D1 level. If that were the case though wouldn’t it make sense for him to join the NIU basketball team?
Would MM want to give a scholarship to a guy who probably hasn't played any basketball in a year?

6 3 and 203?! Plus an athlete. Uh, yeah we could use that at wr. Oppotunity missed.

So....If basketball doesn’t work out, can he come back to finish his football eligibility?
