yeah right smack dab in the middle of the 6 year tv deal they did with Fox/ESPN/CBS.

Will be fascinating to see who replaces him. Is there a natural replacement in house like SEC had with Slive/Sankey?

That depends upon whether you make Joe Castiglione the new Commissioner, or not.

Not just those two.

When Delany was hired by the Big Ten, he was the commissioner of the Ohio Valley Conference.

That would be interesting....

And the SEC scooped up Mike Slive from CUSA. I wonder if Aresco might end up being a candidate

Well if Joe says no, Swarbrick might be available. My point being that either one of those gentlemen would make an outstanding commissioner, especially now that being one requires much more knowledge than just handling network contracts.

Castiglione is a Maryland graduate and, according to Wiki, played on the football team as a walk-on.

Would not surprise me to see the job go to one of the BTN execs.
Would be interesting to know who Delany recommends to the Big Ten presidents (maybe privately). Could be someone already in the conference. The current commissioners of the SEC, MLB, NFL, and NBA were execs within the organization who were recommended by the outgoing commish.

Good point. He looks younger than that.
Would be interesting if Delany right now trying to do the hail Mary pass to expand with the schools on his target list? ACC and Big 12 schools are sweating. Clemson FSU and Georgia Tech might want to go to other conferences that have better fan support. ACC is a joke right now when you have the 3 strongest fan base being bogged down by the other schools. I am not sold on Duke or Wake Forest would be wanted since they are the weakest link in fan support for football. Duke would be better joining the Big Least. I think some of the public be better off in the Big 10 and SEC instead of the ACC.
Clearly this means that the Big Ten will be adding Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma and Stanford before March Madness even starts.

6 pods of 3 teams.

A Big Ten committee to select a 4 team "conference playoff" to determine who should go to the real playoff.

Revenue for each school hitting somewhere between $75 - $100 million.

Delany has been an outstanding B1G commissioner, he will be missed.

Hope the B1G doesn't go after Val Ackerman, the Big East would miss her.
