FC Cincinnati has its first MLS match tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 PM against none other than the Seattle Sounders!

Here are the details: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsspor...nline/amp/

I'm predicting a loss. First game of the season so anything is possible, but I need to see this team play together before I have much confidence in it. Plus I'm not thrilled we retained Koch, the USL coach.

Pretty sure they hired koch because they thought he was the guy to take them into the MLS.

I get the thought process, I just think he got outcoached a bit at the previous level. Seems to have the connections to bring in talent, though. I dont know, I'm no expert.
My son (from Cincinnati/St. X grad) lives in Seattle and will be at the FCC opener against the Sounders proudly wearing FCC gear.

It will be interesting to see how they do tonight. They've done well against MLS talent before but this is pretty much a whole different team.
4-1 loss. Yikes, welcome to MLS.
Seattle is one of the better teams year after year but they looked like a first year expansion team last night. Hopefully they look more competitive against easier competition.

Took the train up to Seattle for the match last night. Really great showing by FC Cincy fans, but a pretty poor performance on the field. Yes, they're an expansion team, but they looked lost on the field and oddly dispassionate at times. This year will be an interesting test for the future. For my taste, the team's marketing feels a bit over the top at times and I wonder if that approach (versus really spending on talent) might come back and bite them a bit. I hope that they allow the fan base to develop a bit more organically, ie. being relaxed a bit on licensing and allowing supporters groups to be creative with merchandise, and that they spend enough to at least stay reasonably competitive this year.
In positive sports outcomes today FCC gets their first point at the home of the defending chaps!

That was a great game!
Not to be the "attendance counter" but FCC just posted they've surpassed 30k tickets sold for the opener. Looking online at the available seats, it looks like just the upper halves of a few upper deck sections are all that's left.

If you're planning on going and don't have tickets, it'd be wise to scoop some up now for face value from the box office before scalpers start gouging.

Also saw there are a lot of bars and restaurants around the area offering shuttles to and from the stadium.
2 months into his first MLS season and Koch got canned. Haven't scored a goal in 5 games and publicly criticized the team he helped build. Rough start. According to DJ Switzer, they're looking at some big names to replace him.
I enjoy watching soccer but this has been brutal. Their last goal in regulation play was in March; their only goal in April was a PK. I typically don't like quick firings but in this case you joined MLS you should hire an MLS manager.
Enquirer is saying David Moyes might be interested??

Yea I never knew of his nephew playing for NKU.. I know FCC recently took the strenth and conditioning coach from Manchester United, Gary Walker.

Not far-fetched to think it could happen - he has ties to the area.

The former Crystal Palace manager who raved about Cincinnati could also be interested.
