No thanks. whenever i watched a Badgers game, all he did was throw interceptions. I'm sure most Wisconsin fans are glad to see him leave.

He threw too many picks for sure, but every other passing stat blows Childers away, and he was playing better competition.
Hornibrook is a guy that would need big time playmakers around him to be successful. He is not the kind of guy that rabid talks about "throwing guys open". He would never come to NIU, but it would certainly not be a good fit at this time anyway.
Wasn't he basically a "true pocket passer"? I don't feel like looking up the stats for him, but feel like he never ran the ball. Mid-majors need mobile QBs IMO to be successful.

He’s slow as dirt, and I agree I prefer mobile QBs, but i also prefer a QB who can actually throw too.

I don’t think Hornibrook is a perfect solution by any means, but I’m willing to bet he’s a substantial improvement over Childers.
He’d be fine if he’s sharing snaps with Hall. Going to need someone that can create with their feet. Our O-line and running game will have to be top notch if we play a pure pocket QB.
Even though is not top level talent, he would almost certainly end up at a P5 wouldn't he?
Just an FYI, damn near the entire offensive staff started following Hornibrook on twitter today.
The more I watch his highlights the more I like him: https://youtu.be/QpgHXe-GumI

We’re not running the Carey offense anymore. Him and Hall rotating at QB would be fun to watch.

Funny you say that, Pete F. Of CFN listed top 5 teams Hornibrook would fit into and guess who came in at 4, Careys Temple owls
Read an article about him and it mentioned he really struggled with injuries last year, including a concussion. This could explain the performance drop from the previous year.

Interesting because Carey loves Dual threat QB’s......
STOP with the Hall at QB comments. STOP, he is not a college QB. STOP.

Do you remember a guy named Frisman Jackson? He also wasn’t QB ready ready but was a heck of an athlete. You have to get your best athletes playing time period. He will not need to throw one pass if we have Hornibrook. Duh!!!
Curious to see what style offense we run. Hammock may not want a dual threat qb. He played with Finlen and Haldi who were not really run threats. Harnish was really the start of the dual threat qbs in recent years. Baltimore had Flacco who was not a run threat either. Wouldn’t dismiss Hornibrook if he ends up being our best option.
My guess is he wants someone that can throw. That being said, he will coach/adapt to what they have and not what they wish they had. Classic college QB can do a little of both, thus not NFL type slinger.
Hall will need to change positions. He's not going in as a QB. Hammock must be going after this kid hard. Just gives Hammock another option. Pretty sure he wouldn't be handed the job. He'd have to beat out Childers, Thompson, and Wright. May the best man win...
Does Hornbook have to sit a year or is he eligible to play right away?

With our returning running backs and our new style of offense, I don't see how this would be a bad pickup. The guy has played MANY games under center in the Big Ten for one of the best programs in the country. Sure he has struggled at times, but he has also had lots of success.
