(I don't see where USM has announced our rotation therefore the TBA)

Friday, March 1
RHP Casey Legumina (0-0, 1.50 ERA) vs. TBA
- Casey Legumina, who returned to GU after being drafted in the 35th round of the MLB Draft last summer, is torching hitters with 17 strikeouts in 12.0 innings pitched across two starts.
- He's allowed hitters to bat just .156 against him and has a 1.00 WHIP and 1.50 ERA on the season so far.

Saturday, March 2 |
RHP Nick Trogrlic-Iverson (0-0, 9.00 ERA) vs. TBA

Sunday, March 3
LHP Justin Blatner (1-0, 3.60) vs. TBA

2-6 overall record
vs Minnesota (L) 5-6
vs Oregon St (L) 3-9
vs New Mexico (L) 4-6
vs Minnesota (W) 6-5
at Cal St Northridge (W) 10-8 then lost next 3, 0-3, 4-7, 12-15

Hitting wise their big bat is #40 Ryan Sullivan as he leads the team in avg (.375), HR (4), runs (14), hits (12), and Ks (11) while he is tied for 2nd with 1 triple as well as 2nd on team with 7 RBIs. The next best hitters cumulative stats (different combo of about 3-4 players) are .281 avg, 1 HR, 5 runs, 9 hits. As a team they've stolen 3 on 4 attempts while allowing opponents to steal 8 of 10.
A SMTTT moment.......perfect weather tonight but game is cancelled due to already wet outfield. DH now set for Saturday with little to no chance of a game 3 on Sunday
Pitching rotation had changed prior to this announcement

Friday: Powers
Saturday: Strickland
Sunday: Powell

at least....every pot hole is filled to the rim....
All of the pundits (except Baseball America) had Gonzaga as the WCC favorite and a regional club. Perfect Game had them as a potential sleeper Super Regional team. They went 1-3 against a solid field in Arizona (Oregon State, Minnesota, New Mexico), but then went 1-3 again last weekend at CS Northridge who is usually a bottomfeeder in the Big West. But they have some good arms and probably have the best rotation we'll see outside of State (maybe Rice once Moss comes back).

The guy (Legumina) they're going throwing tomorrow in game 1 is one of the top 5-6 starters we'll see all season. Projected to end up in the 4-6 round range of the draft and could go higher with a strong 2019 campaign. He was their closer last season, put up really good numbers, and is now in their starting rotation. His fastball will be in the 91-94 range and he has command of 3 pitches. He's put together B2B good starts to start the season.

Iverson was a 15th round pick out of JUCO, but decided to stick with his Gonzaga commitment. Was a starter in JUCO, but Zags moved him to the bullpen to begin this season, and he's gotten rocked early. This will be his first start of the season. Fastball in the 90-93 range though his secondary stuff probably isn't quite as good as Legumina's.
Lynch .091 BA got another start at 3rd. Hope he gets it figured out soon [/align]
Oh my, Cooper is not in the lineup!!!!!!! Freaking hooray
Guidry BA at .136. Don’t remember USM having this poor of a hitting team in a while

our OPS is abysmal....

Only so many infielders. If you want Lynch out, would you prefer to see Cooper back in the lineup?

I think we (myself included) probably understated what we lost from graduation/the draft last year.
I don't know if any of you played baseball and ever bunted, but it is quite literally the easiest thing to do. But our team can't do it.
why bunt and give up the out with one already....

I'll never understand that strategy early....especially with Guidry coming up....

edit: there ya have it....guidry flies out....

just wtgf....

Better question, how does donaldson wiff, and then bunt it foul. Dude doesn't have any hand eye.

I was talking about Monty's bunt....

but yeah, he can't bunt for shite...
We’re not just bad against good pitching. We’re non-competitive.

If we ever play a team that is good at hitting, we will get beat 15

we're bunting the lead-off hitter now.....that's insane...
I miss the days of awful pitching and great hitting.
