The NFL Combine is starting up and the mock drafts are already in full swing. With the Ross rumors apparently debunked, I doubt we go with another WR in R1. The most common name from what I've seen mocked to the Bengals is LSU LB Devin White. Makes a lot of sense in my opinion. Things are bound to change quite a bit by draft day but I could definitely see White as the guy if no physical or behavioural concerns pop up (and I haven't heard of any).

Is this the year they go QB? I like Haskins a lot (even though I hate O$U). When Dalton's contract expires after 2020, Dalton won't be worth the money the market will demand. So, they need to set themselves up for life after Dalton. I don't see them moving away from Dalton in the immediate future. The pressure to win now is too great. Then again, you don't want a first round QB sitting around for 2 years either, so they may address QB in later rounds. I don't subscribe to the theory of wanting/hoping to suck for a chance at Trevor Lawrence in a few years.

I don't either, though I will say Lawrence would be the absolute best case scenario to replace Dalton. I'm also very intrigued by Tua as an NFL prospect. I'm less enamored with the guys in this year's class, but if Haskins/Murray are there when the Bengals pick and the Bengals legitimately believe they can be top 5-10 type QBs you have to consider taking them.
I don't think anyone's wanting/hoping to suck for two years to draft Lawrence. When i look at current rosters/coaching staffs I think the Bengals are very likely going to be in that mix in two years. If you can get better at QB you do it but the top two will be long gone and the Bengals are not in a position where they need to be trading up. If you can get a good guy in round 2-3 to develop for a year and then move on from Dalton that would make sense.
