ECU is off to a great start in football ticket sales. Excitement is back in Greenville.

I'm moving to the home side finally. :)
Feels so good to have positive MO around our athletic programs again. So happy with the additions of Dooley/Gilbert/Houston, the difference between last year at this time and this year is flat amazing.

And oh, cue the inevitable snide comment because ECU fans are happy about something in football.

I'm curious whether that represents an actual increase this year, or is just a timing thing based on all the early-purchase incentives.

Totally agree. I never stopped buying season tickets but it was painful to sit through some of those games. I'm glad the excitement is back again. I'm actually going to enjoy driving 2 and a half hours from VA to see ECU football.

I think it will be an increase if you base it off of last years numbers. Last year I think it was 12,600 season tickets sold before the season started. I can see it increasing to around 14,500. That would be a great start for this year and something Coach Houston and AD Gilbert can build on. Hopefully we can get back to averaging over 20,000 real soon.
Congrats! ECU has the best fanbase in the AAC, IMO.

However, the extreme percent improvement indicates to me that the base was very low and the cause (e.g.,timing?) is more than increased enthusiasm. My comment is not meant to dampen the achievement, but merely expresses curiosity.

That is exactly what it means, don't understand what your're getting at.

Point of the post was that interest is back compared to recent years in a big way. Not meant to signify some giant boost of ticket sales compared to our "normal" years.
I’m psyched to see DF when the press box and tower is done.
This might be an appropriate topic on ECU's boards, but nobody here cares. If this "momentum" excites you, then great, but why should your conference colleagues give a damn whether you sell a few extra season tickets? It means absolutely nothing to anybody else.
Why do ECU fans feel the need to post any and all ECU news here??? Odd.

Ok. Well here's a solution. If you don't care then.....

Look ECU we appreciate your season tickets sales, and baseball stuff, and that your daughters are touring campus and yada yada yada but 90% of what you guys post should be in the ECU board.

Why do bearcat fans continue to whine incessantly every time an ECU fan posts something deemed unnecessary by bearcat fans? Odd.

I was more saying that it might be a timing increase based on the following incentives:

First Day Incentives:
-Free Pizza Hut Pizza for first 100
-Drawing for free Pizza Hut for a year for first 500

Other Drawings:
-Renew/Buy by March 15 – 4 seats in the new Scholarship Club for a game of your choice.
-Renew/Buy by April 1 – 2 sideline pregame passes for the game of your choice.
-Renew/Buy by April 15 – 4 tickets to the ECU-Navy game at Annapolis on Sept. 14.
-Renew/Buy by May 1 – Have the opportunity to Raise the No Quarter Flag at the Thursday night Temple game on Oct. 3.

Time will tell whether we have a lot of new sales, or just regular season ticket holders buying early.

You nailed it. ECU will average 500,000 a game this year. 01-wingedeagle

Well BC1 is a constant troll so he rarely if ever brings anything to the board that is of actual use. The rest of Cindy fans are butt hurt because they don't think they belong in this conference even though no one else wants them. UConn fans are like that to a certain extent but only in bball.

Get comfy Cindy fans, you're here for the long haul.

I don't see the issue either. Fans of UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, Wichita St, etc all make posts about something going on in their athletic department. Personally, I like to see what is going on at other schools.
