Anyone know when Spring Practice starts and when the Spring Game is? I know the biggest storyline this spring will be the QB postion with Herink and Marchi's graduations.

Inquiring Buc fan minds want to know!
From looking at the roster and the signing class, i'm a bit perplexed. The bucs don't appear to have a QB on the team thats ever taken a single college rep. Or am i wrong?
I think you are correct.
Sanders has one QB that has been here for two years and knows his system. He has two QB'S that have been here one year in his system. He has two outstanding freshman recruits.

If there is a transfer QB available that could step in as a starter, I'm sure Sanders wouldn't hesitate to bring him in.

I'm going to assume Sandusky is the man until proven otherwise.
I heard that Spring practice will start after the students return from Spring break.

I have to agree with this as he has been in the program the longest.
2019 Southern Conference spring outlook

EAST TENNESSEE STATE

HEAD COACH: Randy Sanders (8-4, one season)

2018 RECORDS: 8-4 overall, 6-2 SoCon (Tie/1st)

SPRING PRACTICES: March 19-April 13

PROJECTED RETURNING STARTERS: 14 (7 offense/7 defense)

OFFSEASON PRIORITY: Coming off a breakthrough season that included an FCS playoff appearance, the Buccaneers have to replace quarterback Austin Herink, presumably with junior Logan Marchi, last year's season-opening starter (not), while overcoming the loss of leading receiver Kobe Kelley.

NOTABLE: Running back Jacob Saylors' freshman statistics (615 rushing yards on a 7.2-yard average; 23 receptions) didn't get their due considering backfield mate Quay Holmes was the SoCon freshman of the year. The defense returns two of the conference's top defensive players in defensive end Nasir Player and free safety Tyree Robinson.

My gut tells me that the starting quarterback is sitting in the NCAA Transfer Portal, or about to be after spring ball and graduation.
Some updates before spring practice: https://www.johnsoncitypress.com/Footbal...ctice.html

Marchi has transferred.

We also picked up a transfer from Miss. St. Jamal Couch. He was recruited as a 4 star OLB coming out high school but appears to have switched to WR. His offer list was pretty impressive coming out of HS
Is there any info about the first three practices for the Bucs? How are things shaping up? Is there anyone who is standing out at the QB position?

Joe does a good job covering football. What ever happened to the sports editor (Hodge?) who seemed to always be down on ETSU athletics?

Yes I think Joe does a good job and covers our athletics the way it should be done. I think the problem is that, over the years, there have been several reporters who considered the local school to be a little over one hundred miles away.
A few interesting notes via the JC Press.

Quan Harrison, a Greeneville product who was an all-conference pick as a kick returner and returned a punt for a touchdown against VMI early last season, is no longer on the team’s roster.

Calvin Smith, a Morristown native, began his college career at Coastal Carolina. He will be a junior in the fall.

Javarus Barksdale-Blair, an Oklahoma State transfer, has also joined the program. He will be a junior as well when the coming season starts.
Does anyone know if Coach Sanders base salary has been increased this year?
Does anyone know when the Ring Ceremony will be?

I have been told that the Ring Ceremony will be at the Spring game.02-13-banana
SPRING PRACTICE sure has a nice ring as opposed to that dark hole era.
