After a decent start to the season, the Yellow Jackets are 11-15 and 3-10 in the ACC

Has lost 9 of their last 10

Is Pastner done?
Did you mean "future partner"?
It's so nice to be able to say....WHO???

Legitimately - at least in the title.

Classic!

I smell an auto-correct blame coming...
I don’t mean to single anyone out or point fingers...this is just an observation: Man, for whatever reason, we spend a lot of time talking about former coaches on here.

I think a lot of fan bases do. Like LSU WITH Saban. Man you should hear longhorn fans about Barnes right now

You’re probably right. I’d be curious if LSU and Texas fans are highly critical of Saban and Barnes (like our fans are of former coaches) or are they wishing that both were still coaching at their respective schools?

Not there's anything wrong with that ...

It’s very similar to us. Not so much wanting them back. Just wanting them to fail. Lol
I don’t want Josh to fail, I just realized he wasn’t gonna get the job done here and I had my doubts that things would go any better at GT.
His flaws were exposed at Memphis. But the ACC has exploited them.
When he left, I was of the opinion that it would all come together for Josh at some point, and then he'd win a lot of games. Now it's hard to imagine his getting a decent head coaching gig at all.

I disagree..they man has a lot going for him. I didn't like the job he did here but he tried.

Things didn't work out here and may not at GT but he is absolutely a quality person and professional ..and still a very young coach who is no doubt getting better.

Josh's best days are ahead of him and he will land at another great program if GT cuts him lose. He has too much going for him imo..

He has a great resume, knows how to handle boosters, has coached a few NBA players and knows how to promote himself.

GT is a tough job for a number of reasons and Memphis was his first job but I can very easily see Josh landing a top 25-50 type job or possibly the NBA, or both eventually.

What program do you think is going to hire Josh after the GT debacle? No way, no chance. He can't recruit or coach and everyone knows it. Throw in the Ron Bell mess (which I am sure has effected his recruiting) and no real program will touch him. What kind of mother would allow her child to go off with a sociopath like Josh who hangs out with psychopaths like Bell?

Wasn't he cleared fairly comprehensively in that case? Like 'this lawsuit is absurd' level of clesred?

The hate received by coaches who were essentially let go is a bit baffling to me.

I liked JP and wish him well. I'm glad he's gone, but that is because it wasn't working, not out of dislike for him. I'd love to see him be very successful and happy.

Couldn't agree more.
By the way some people talk about him, you'd think he never won a game in his time here. Someone on here actually said he's a terrible person. Unreal. Wish him well and move on.

Oh yeah he was cleared, but it is still effecting him... once again.. Pretty much every normal person in the world took 2 seconds to realize Bell is completely insane. Why did Pastner allow someone completely insane to have total access to both programs? So even being cleared of the sexual assault, everyone with any common sense is still questioning why in the heck was Bell around in the first place.
Winning is hard
BigD Tiger, what are the Texas fans saying about Barnes? Do most wish he was still there or are they content with Shaka? It's very interesting other gigantic fanbases mirror our reactions during similar type events, although Pastner hasn't had near the success of Barnes at his new digs.

It’s really more of a hope he fails kinda thing. Like we are with Cal. They want to feel good about firing him. Like us with Pastner.

As for Pastner. I predict that he gets bought out in a couple years once it’s more affiordable. He parlayed his ACC COY into an extension. Now they regret it. Much like we did after the USC threat. Pastner will go into exile. If he wises up, he’ll try to be an assistant under a great coach. And then resurface somewhere like Quinn Snyder did. Pastner is too hard of a worker to not succeed eventually in something. I’ve always felt that Pastner and his take it easy on the players approach and style of play as well as bench coaching is more suited for the NBA. But if he doesn’t accept that he needs to reroute his career, and that RC just simply hired him a decade too early, he’ll slowly sink into commentator obscurity with the likes of Good Ole Gillum.

I always liked Quinn Snyder. Good reference. This is a very probable path for Pastner. He is a great assistant as he is a very energetic, successful recruiter. he would be hired as an assistant quickly. He would have to learn and adapt by the time his next HC opportunity comes.
