57. Memphis Tigers

Senior Jeremiah Martin is one of the underrated perimeter players in the country and is finishing a strong career with the improving Tigers. Martin's 41-point second half against South Florida on Feb. 2 was a sight to behold.
It's about time, Bilus.

Good Job, Jay

Warning: the day Bias gives Memphis credit is the sign of an apocalypse.

well it has been sometime since we've been on the national radar to begin with.

Hyperbole not withstanding, I do not recall anything but sparse or lukewarm praise from him when we were relevant.

Jay Bilas? He used to be very complimentary of us, lol. Y'all have your blinders on too much.

We have different recollections or you are unable to recognize the nuances of criticism.

He's a young buck who takes everything at face value. One day he'll grow up and realize the world isn't just black and white.
bilas world = duke and not-duke
Was he the one who predicted us being the first 1 seed to lose to a 16? Maybe even 2 years straight.

Yep.. think so.
In 2007 and 2008, Bilas was a huge fan of our team, and a huge fan of Coach Cal. Contrary to what this board wants to believe, the world isn’t out to get us.
Someone please correct Bilas’ name in the title
Some folks here are either bilasbootylikkers or have short term memory loss. When we moved Tubby on his way, Bilas tweeted:

‘Memphis should be embarrassed. This is pro sports, and no amount of NCAA rationalizing can obscure that fact.’

Which was 9 years after the 2008 season when Bilas was drooling over Dorsey, CDR, and Cal.
Shocked he put us in the category of fighting for an at large. It's so unlikely. We could only lose one game at most AND make it to the conference finals to have a shot... And better that that loss isn't at Cincy

No, it was Seth Davis - another Duke graduate. He singled out Memphis in the 2006 Tourney to be suspectable to an upset by a 16 seed. His shockingly original theroy was we were untested in C-USA.

The Tigers won by 16 which represented the same margin as his beloved alma mater over their 16th seed. Naturally, he did not issue a mea culpa.

Davis, Dukie V, and Bias make up the trinity of Blue Devil apologists.
