One year deal worth at least $1 million (not factoring in likely suspension), would be RFA in 2020.
Good, maybe he will live at home with parental supervision.
Hope doesn’t mess it up. Man I hate the Browns

family support (or lack there of) may be part of his problem as is hanging around with old friends, he will need a new strong support system with his mother an important influence to keep him straight
He needs to seek out the Lord and serve his community.
Knowing the Browns they will have him for one season and if they don't go to the Superbowl they will cut him.

Glad to hear he got a job, though.

They also would hold his RFA rights for 2020 season

uh...

Family Life

Mama might be able to keep the hootchies away but it's not clear that being "home" is for the best either. Better to take Mama on the road I think.

But hoping for the best. Breaking that cycle would be a big time accomplishment...
As a browns fan, I hope for the best. But, I don’t think it’ll be a happy ending and I fear Hunt May be out of the league by next season...
It makes perfect sense for the Browns to be the team to sign him, although I expected no one to take a bite until the NFL announced when he would be able to play. But, being a hometown guy, that likely helps the PR issues a lot, in that many locals will be quick to forgive and forget, I believe. Also, Dorsey knows him, so has a feel for whether he is really being truly remorseful and making changes in his life or not. Also, the Browns have the most room available under the salary cap, so they can take a flier for $M bucks and not cause any concerns financially if it doesn't work out.

But, the other reason why I have thought the Browns might be the first to bite, is that it keeps the Steelers, Ravens and Bengals from signing him. None of those teams have a solid backfield, and also none of them have shown any issues with paying players who did much worse things than Hunt has (think Rothlesberger, Lewis & Mixon.)

I hope Kareem will straighten his life out and have a good career, but that remains to be seen.

okay, how about adult supervision?

sooooo much potential to be sooooo foolish and immature
wow....the nfl is going to lose the kaepernick case and at the same time get sued by ray rice. the nfl is in huge trouble.
Punishing by stripping ones primary means to make a living is unfair and tortuous. Either charges are to be filed or move on. I cannot see the logic in banning the posters here access to their own careers as punishment for an off-site issue. I both hate what he did but cannot condone stripping his livelihood. I pray for Hunt’s truthful remorse and his highly successful return to football!

Employees in the private sector are hired and fired at the will of the employer.

It's absolutely neither in my view

He has a union. He has due process. They all know they are in the entertainment industry. They don't get paid all that money because they play a football game. They get paid all that money because they attract people to advertisers. Lose that ability and you're worthless. So I certainly disagree with "unfair."

"Tortuous?" There are plenty of ways to make money. He has no government right to a job in football. So I certainly disagree with that one also.

Yes I'll agree that the perceptions on him are more a result of what was done by others but we I think have all agreed after the first incident, he has to learn to let others take care of business; call the police. So even though I feel this last incident was instigated, even though the others were far worse physically, with this he fell into a cultural taboo regardless how aggressive and physical the female.

He didn't learn his lesson the first two times. Hopefully this is the one that prevents a really serious physical altercation and injury. As I posted above, there are serious issues in his family line. He has the opportunity to work with those in his family to see that it ends with this generation. Accomplish that and he has accomplished much more off the field than on.
East... we are all entitled to our opinions and that is why we have this forum. The bottom-line here is the fact that Cleveland has given him that second chance. We shall see if he has had the strength of character to amend be truthfully remorseful to be entitled to move on. I HOPE HE HAS MADE AMENDS TO THOSE HE HAS WRONGED AND IS TRULY REMORSEFUL. If hes not and is not then I am not supportive in any way. That's my stance. If he has then he is should allowed to HUMBLY came back to his field of work.
