Getting that 1 seed is key. We could get WKU and UTSA at home.

ODU 11-3
WKU 10-4
UTSA 10-4
UNT 10-4
USM 9-5

Presuming that one Thursday-Saturday is a team's home games and the other is its road games, I can see some really painful trips depending on how the standings shake out. Let's say ODU and UTSA are 1 and 2. If Southern Miss is the 3, the Eagles have to go to San Antonio for a Thursday game, then Norfolk for a Saturday game. Or vice versa. That's a hell of a turnaround. Are the dates set in stone or is there some flexibility so that a road team doesn't have to criss-cross the conference in 48 hours?

EDIT: Looking on the conference website, it says the last four games will be played over three weeks, so that would allow for two long road trips to be spaced out. I presume they'll try to let everyone play their home games on the same Thursday-Saturday so that everyone gets one home Saturday game, but depending on who goes where and when, that may not be possible.

It isn't Thursday/Saturday. It is Saturday/Wednesday/Sunday/Thursday... or something like that. I can't find where I saw it, but it wasn't Thursday/Saturday.
"Potential dates during group play are Saturday, Feb. 23, Thursday, Feb. 28, Sunday, March 3, Wednesday, March 6 and Saturday, March 9. "

That would make more sense. I wonder if there's anything in place to ensure that everyone at least gets a weekend game. Imagine there'd be some pissed off fans, particularly in the top pod, if their team's home games were on Wednesday and Thursday.

Nice find. Wonder if "potential" imply flexibility with the dates themselves, like moving one back or forward a day to account for an arena already being booked. I presume mostly for women's basketball.
I think the potential is due to the fact that there are 5 dates for 4 games.
Assuming we beat Charlotte, we need UTSA to lose one of their two games this week in order to secure 1st heading into pod play -- correct?

Yes, and they have two tough road games. If they win out and ODU defeats Charlotte, then we will be the #2 seed.

Yeppers
This is going to be really interesting. I really hope we don't have to play at UTSA and/or WKU.
We were beating UTSA like a drum AT THERE PLACE before a number of things had to go perfectly for them to win. We are better than UTSA and I don't believe their crowd would be a huge advantage for them. If we finish 1st or 2nd I think we are in good shape for pod play.
I think it would be neat if C-USA did an NBA type playoff for the League NCAA Bid at Home arenas instead of the Neutral Site Tourney. The Top 4 Teams would be in and play let's say a best of 3 series... At least we could have some 1/2 to Fully full arenas.

Best thing the league could ever do. Would love and so would all the Conference mates.
