No I'm not talking about the hottest bar in Muncie... (BTW, I've never been to Muncie so there might be many. I just don't know... Lol.)

I have a friend, college age and college finances (which means...) and getting ripped off by the local cable company for Internet + cable TV.

The cost after the 2-year agreement ended went up $50 / month.

My question:

Anyone try to do a hotspot on a phone and use that phone to connect a laptop to it via WiFi?

As for me, I have DirecTV and Internet through the local cable/internet/phone provider.

I wouldn't mine getting rid of the Internet service through the cable company if I could (that would save say $75 /month).

Thoughts?

Friend has Metro by T-Mobile. About $60 a month for unlimited data. Includes Amazon Prime, 100GB Google One Cloud storage, and 15GB Hot Spot. Worth checking out.
