Started watching the Netflix QB1 series and Matt Johnson is in it. As of 2017, he was coaching high school football in Pennsylvania while still trying to play professional ball. He mentioned playing at BGSU and winning the MACC.

He cost the MAC millions for beating NIU in the MAC championship game.
In one of the Netflix scenes, Johnson talked about being MVP of MACC, his stints in the NFL and his continued efforts to get there. He was also on the phone with his agent about any opportunity in the CFL. Really shows how hard it is to make that jump to the professional level and what players do to try and get there.

He is so talented, it is tough to believe that no one in the NFL or CFL could improve their roster with him as a starting or back-up QB.
It is good that he is still around the game as a coach.
Well there was the little incident where he "jokingly" took $1500 from his roommate.
