This 4-man, 6-team challenge is a skils competition pitting the Power 5 against each other plus a “wild card” team with non-power schools.

Interesting to note, Notre Dame has a player representing Team ACC. I understand they are ACC in all other sports, but it was an interesting move to place him on that team.

Where else do you put Notre Dame? They are a power school, play 10 games on average against power schools, play 5 ACC games, games are officiated by ACC crews, have bowl tie-ins via the ACC, and are a voting member of the ACC. So how is that strange?

Strange would be Notre Dame with the SEC or B12.

The wild card doesn’t have to be non-power schools. It could be all schools that don’t play in a power conference which would include Notre Dame.
