How about the young guys lately! Kithcart and Ezikpe have really come on strong lately, and Wade has been a steady contributor all year. Those three make a REALLY tough nucleus going forward and add a lot of value to this year's team as freshmen and a sophomore.

Yes, for sure. Add Dickens and Godwin into the mix and our future looks bright.
The current freshmen/sophomores include: Green, Dickens, Ezikpe, Wade, Godwin, Kithcart, and while we haven’t seen him yet, AJ Oliver, who comes fairly highly regarded, especially as a shooter.

And Reece. Anybody have any word on how he's been progressing?

The word is Reece is very soft and not a good defender. Not sure about his future.
Not that I think he's playing poor, but I thought I'd see Green make a bigger jump offensively this year.

Regardless, the young guys look great. Wade and Ezikpe especially.
I think Green has made a HUGE jump offensively in regards to his skillset and consistency. I think what you're noting is his stats don't reflect it. That's understandable considering the huge jump in Caver and Stith's contributions and the fact that we have a much, much deeper bench this year with a legit 5-6 guys capable of going off for double digit scoring any game. I expect Green, in Stith and Caver's absence, to blow up next year and average somewhere around 12 ppg. I think we'll see Ezikpe, Kithcart, and Godwin averaging between 8-12 ppg also.

I agree. His shot and ability to get to the basket have improved greatly. I would like to see him take some more.

I think going forward our scoring will be more balanced than it has in a long time.

Im hoping the year off will and strength training will make him tougher. He's got some legit skills if he can figure out the other things.

No one is going to be a big time consistent scorer with BJ and Caver on the squad. They are gonna take up 50% of the shots. But, Green has shown some progression and you can't completely leave him unguarded behind the arc. Its nice to have "go to" scorers on the roster, but I don't think Green will ever be that. We will have to score by committee going forward. (Though, Ezikpe could end up being a 15+ point per game scorer).
I would also say that Green's confidence has obviously grown a lot this season. He looks a lot more natural out there and is really starting to try and make his own shot and doesn't pass it immediately. He's also been assigned to defend the opponents best/2nd best player, so I'm pretty impressed with how active he is on offense while also having to expend a ton of energy on defense.
Good finds JJ!!!

I believe the rule here is that if you want to compliment Jones in any way you must direct said compliment to the coaching staff. /s
Ezikpe sure seems to be the real deal. Not only does he have a big mans build, he can sky. Most of his blocks are flat impressive. Good hands too. Zip is the man!
His blocks last night were very impressive. He really skied for a couple and honestly I thought someone else must have made the block. Did not realize he could get up that high.

I think we are set with Dickens and Ezipke! They are playing well enough for us to play at the top of the conference. I really like the way this team is transforming and coming together. I just hope JJ doesn't screw it up.
