Been a while since I posted. Love how the WAC board is so quiet when GCU wins a decisive round game in which everyone predicted they'd lose.
Too busy trolling college kids on other platforms, maybe?

No lies detected here.

Over half the posters on this blog are Aggies fans. They are still recovering from nearly losing to UTRGV and the possible season ending loss of Aurrecoechea. They will be back. I do hope the injury to Aurrecoechea is not serious and he is able to play.

I get that, but quick to attack when things go bad for gcu. Odd to say the least.

That is true! We should consider it a compliment though. I sense they fear their dominance in the WAC is slowly eroding and in a few years they no longer will be top dog. Lopes Rising! 04-rock

Right you are sir!
No ones fears anything, least of all GCU. Congrats on beating CBU, a school we should have beat but lost too. I just love how college kids can act like Aholes and if you call them out everyone starts crying, well GCU fans anyway. Good win. GCU is reaping the rewards of not playing their usual softy scheduled but don't worry. I have faith GCU will flounder and end up losing of the first round of he no one gives a CHIT tournament. I guess Lopesup had to crawl out of his cave to gloat on beating CBU. NMSU fans don't fear a team we have a 10-2 record over btw.

Not yet! However, I sense the tide is turning. Perhaps not this year but definitely GCU is getting closer and closer (a half court hail Mary shot closer!). You have a 10-2 head start since GCU transitioned from DII and is only now starting to recruit similar talent as NMSU. In a couple years we will likely be out recruiting NMSU and in about 8 years your 10-2 lead will look more like 16-13 with the Lopes replacing NMSU as top dog in the WAC. Just my humble opinion based on the current trend. Certainly could be wrong, but I do not think so. In the meantime, Aggies are still top dog in the WAC.

Naw. GCU will not surpass NMSU. Certainly not in 8 years. But whatever. Let's see what happens in Phoenix.

Don't you think this is a little premature after a "little" success? In order to out recruit NMSU, GCU needs to have players capable of beating P5 programs. Keep in mind, NMSU has gone through THREE coaching changes since GCU joined the WAC. We haven't had the same coaching continuity as GCU. We have lost players such as, Wendell McKines, Sim Bhullar, Daniel Mullings, Pascal Siakam, Ian Baker, Jemerrio Jones, Zach Lofton, etc... and yet NMSU still remains the team to beat in the WAC. To be the top dog, it requires longevity of success; not just one season. CSUB had one great season (beating NMSU in the WAC tourney) and yet the Runners are still chasing NMSU year in year out. NMSU is not going away. NMSU has had the target on its back for years... and get every ones best shot. NMSU doesn't get the luxury of have a bad game; as we found out against CBU. In a hotly contested game, CSUB wore down CBU on Thursday night; while GCU rested. CBU doesn't have the athletes to bounce back for a tough Saturday game against the fresh Lope team. So, GCU steamrolled them. If GCU played CBU first, CSUB would have routed CBU afterwards.

No, I personally do not think it is premature at this point. As I stated, I am not saying it will happen this year, but I am confident it will eventually happen. The trend seems to suggest that. As for the "CBU was worn out" comment, I just hope the same is true in a couple weeks when we play the Aggies on Saturday after they play CSUB on Thursday. A win is a win however you get it (cue video of McCants half court hail Mary shot). Anyway, it is just my opinion. A very confident one, but just an opinion.

NMSU has won 7 of the last 9 WAC tournaments. I guess NMSU flatlined at the top.

GCU's last three seasons... 27-7 (2nd in WAC)… 22-9 (2nd in WAC)… 22-12 (3rd in WAC)… NMSU's last three seasons... 23-11 (1st in WAC)... 28-6 (2nd in WAC)... 28-6 (1st in WAC)… NMSU is 16-4 and GCU is 13-7 right now... What trend? GCU is playing well now. But that is not a trend. At this point, Utah Valley and Cal State Bakersfield have more to boast above than GCU... Both have won the WAC regular season. And, CSUB actually won a WAC tournament... CSUB is also 6-1.
GCU was down Oscar though they might have been rested, the Lopes were with out O and Matt was just coming back from a rib injury. GCU did what a D1 school should do to a transitioning school.

Right next to your buzzer beater banner.

I am by no means the smartest guy in this forum, but it sure appears to me that you started this post to pick a fight with NMSU fans, then you state this. And is the CBU game what prompted you to start the thread? Who exactly is "everyone" (GCU wins a decisive round game in which everyone predicted they'd lose)?

Lastly, what are Lopes fans puffed up about? That you beat CBU and NMSU didn't? That you almost beat NMSU and we needed a buzzer beater to win? That GCU is tied for first place? That NMSU barely beat UTRGV? Or something else? I'm not following (again, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed).
