1. Marshall - Very tough schedule in conference thus far. ODU/Charlotte who is coming on strong, and WKU. Now a tough FAU and FIU on tap this week.
2. UTSA - have to honor the undefeated. Even though not a strong SOS played in conference yet, its on its way. Good to see UTSA stepping up.
3. WKU - Record fools some. Not this one. WKU is very dangerous onnany given night. No doubt they'll be in the mix fornthe title.
4. ODU - rough schedule for ODU to start, just didn't go their way, still a heck of a team and contender.
5. UNT - weak schedule, but jury is still out. Honestly UNT has the easiest schedule all the way until the pods. Marshall and WKU at home, at ODU, and @ the F_Us.
6. La Tech - it gets murky here. La Tech is a cut above the F_Us group, but not by too much.
7. FAU - FAU is as Jekyl and Hyde as they come. Beating ODU, but losing to others that are not as good. Still, middle of the road in a solid basketball conference isn't bad.
8. USM - sliding right between them, USM is not that bad. Should have beaten UNT on the road but choked it away.
9. UAB - the middle of the road is wide.
10. FIU - not much seperates 7-10.
11. Charlotte - had a hard time putting Charlotte here. One man show, but they are certainly dangerous and playing well right now. Expect Charlotte to move up.
12. Rice - rough schedule, but also Rice.
13. UTEP - terrible
14. Middle - most terrible
Hmm.
Purely hypothetical question, but where would you have ranked a 3-2 team that lost to your #2 and #5 teams (by double digits), but beat your #6 and #8 (by 8-12 points) and then beat the #13 team (on a last second shot).
You can also hypothetically assume they didn’t do much of anything in the OOC except maybe one road win against a top 200 squad.

Looking forward to others rankings, feel free.
Ahhh #9...middle of the pack...right in Ehsan's sweet spot.

Looks OK to me based on two weeks of performance but who ends up at the top is going to come down to resiliency and consistency because nearly any team in the conference could beat any other any given night. I'm starting to worry about my Monarchs. We're somewhat fortunate not to be 0-4 right now, on the other hand we aren't too far from 4-0.

The top 1/4 and maybe a few middle teams I can agree with you on that.

No way Middle Tenn could though. Two of MTSUs 3 wins are against a DII and NAIA school and the other is against Charleston Southern (7-9) the others wins are against DII Lee's McRae (5-13) and NAIA Milligan (12-5).

No one wants to lose a coach especially after you stand by that coach for a solid decade just to finally achieve success. I don't know many schools that would stand by a coach that went 16-16, 17-15 and 18-14 for 10 years straight.

MTSU nor CUSA can stand around and wait for another coach to learn how to coach the long way around again. Ive always thought MTSUs choice was the lazy and cheap route.
about right

UAB could beat anyone or lose to anyone. Young and inconsistent.
Hard to rank, but I don’t feel good about having us at 1. If anything...North Texas, even with a close road loss to UTSA, is probably the tougher out. Taking record out and “who beat who”...I think it would be fair to rank as follows...

1) North Texas
2) ODU
3) Marshall
4) WKU
5) UTSA
6) La Tech
7) FAU
8) Southern Miss
9) UAB
10) FIU
11) Rice
12) UTEP
13) Charlotte
14) MTSU

And man, really...anyone in that top 10 could finish in pod 1. We are really deep this year.
ODU’s win over Syracuse is looking damned deliciously sexy right now! ALl we need now is for ODU to run the table against the whole conference but the Herd!!! And lose to the Herd in the finals! 2 teams in! 04-cheers

It’s totally possible. ODU looks legit.

I mean, look at the standings. It’s never looked this deep with +.500 win teams. And we all know Western is gonna catch hell fire.

It’s gonna be fun watching us all fight and scrap for those top five pod positions...

Yeah. I just had to shake my head at that comment in light of recent events. 03-lmfao

Maybe later in the season, but not at present. And that is NOT a dig at ODU at all.
That was thors way of flaming me. He knows i have a hateful respect with ODU, mostly hate lol.

I agree, about any team in cusa can win it, and anyone can lose to anyone else on a given night. I'm not 100% sure its because we are deep, or just no one is really that good, and the parity is a result. Several teams have potential to be good teams. Time will tell if it materializes. And i can't put UNT at the top of the rankings witb the weak OOC schedule and also very weak start onnthe cusa schedule.

I really thought it was a good ranking based on analysis of what’s transpired thus far. I would have been okay with ODU at the 1 spot as well.
actually, you narcissistic person, i'm not flaming you, don't care about you, and didn't know you had a hateful respect for odu...but odu>marshall...didn't realize a recent basketball result meant that one school was better than the other...thought we were supposed to look at the whole picture/season...but that doesn't help marshall in this case, so find the random game

edit: meant for goherds...didn't quote and don't want thunder thinking i was replying to him
"To be the man, you have to beat the man"
Ric Flair

Marshall and perpetually MTSU can talk all of the smack they want, as ODU must earn its way from being the fire hydrant to being the dog.

Head to head always trumps "whole picture/season." Especially when the head to head occurred less than 2 weeks ago and the away team won lol.

Get serious. North Texas fans are a special breed.

I'm not sure you know what that word means, i don't know you or give a damn what you or anyone else on a message board thinks about me. I share my opinions and move on without a second of lost sleep. It's pretty well known about my ODU fued, if you don't, you haven't been paying much attention to the board at all. And we all played way different schedules and situations out of conference, now we are on the same playing field, and it'll shake out to find the best team. WKU and Marshall had by far, the toughest OOC schedules and i am a believer that, it toughens your team. And kind of ignorant to say a team that Marshall beat at home is better than the team that just beat them. Especially after another loss to another cusa team. One that we have in common inna couple days. See you soon turd.

PS. UNT is < 8-9 cusa teams. You'll see as the losses pile up on top of that cup cake schedule.

You must be forgetting they won the CBI (was it CIT, CTI, whatever it was) tournament. They think they are good lol

Of course they have the easiest schedule in the conference. The Texas favoritism continues in this conference.

All the top/best programs are in the East (or used to be in the East before the last realignment) but yet this conference wants to cater to the Texas schools. Mind blowing.
